Gained 1.1lbs going to cry.....
I don't know what happened....
I have been drinking at least 5-8 glasses a water a day, staying below my calories... working out 3 days a week...
and the stupid Wii Fit said I gained 1.1lbs since last visit... what am I doing wrong... am I retaining all the water I'm drinking... I tend to swell....help...I'm so depressed I almost gave up... but thanks to a wonderful women at my job who gave me the best pep talk ever! I did not, but please what anyone, what do you think I'm doing wrong.... stupid question... but if you drink too much water do you retain it?![]()
You can't gain a pound in just one day unless you ate 3500 calories OVER what you are supposed to....
I think you should take a step back a bit......if you are obsessing this much over what most likely is NORMAL fluctuations (I am generally 5-8 POUNDS heavier at the end of the day than in the morning), then you are looknig at the numbers too much......just enter your weight in the cc log....until the GREEN line on the log chart starts going up and not down or even, that's when you are most likely truly gaining weight. One or two days up even a few pounds isn't necisarily weight gain.
I stepped on the wii fit one day in the morning......2 hours later, I was 5 lbs LESS. That's also a computer, and it makes mistakes, too. I'd bet if you stepped on it right now and then in 2 hours, the difference would surprise you.
How long have you been working out? You may be gaining muscle as you lose fat - and muscle weighs more pound for pound than fat.
I've been told by my doctor that the more water you drink, the less you retain as your body flushes salts and toxins out...so I'm not sure about the retention question.
Another thought is this - your body will naturally fluctuate - if Wii said you had gained 10 pounds since your last visit, I would freak out...but 1.1 pounds may simply be a natural body fluctuation. Even if you do everything you are supposed to by the book, your body is still YOUR body, and will lose weight according to how your body is naturally going to lose weight!
Thanks, after talking to my co-worker she basically said the same thing... the Wii fit gives her different weights all the time...so I did not do anything drastic... like eat 5 jelly donuts!
So I'm going to keep the calories at around 1600 and keep working out, I think I may add a day of cardio. Thanks so much for the fast response. mucho appreciated!! I want to lose the weight so bad... I think it warps my thinking someteimes.
1.1 Pounds?! What is the big deal? Your weight fluctuates all the time throughout the day, so why don't you try weighing yourseself on the same day, once a week? Do it in the morning after you pee, before your shower. Weighing yourself daily seems silly to me. I wouldn't stress yourself out over it :)
it might just be the scales reading. my might add a pound or so to my weight even if i just weighed myself an hour ago. dont worry its probably either the scale or just a daily minor fluctuation. dont cry, be stronger than that.
Pfft 1 lb is NOTHING. I gained a pound reading this thread. It happens that easily. Don't get so discouraged so easily! Seriously, a one pound gain is nothing to worry about, ok?
I fluctuate between 5 lbs in a day. Im usually 133-134.5 when i wake up, can be as low as 131 after my run, and can be as high as 137-138 after dinner. But on any given day, even if its at the EXACT same time its sooo unpredictable!
Weight can fluctuate up to 5lbs between days. It's natural. It could be the bulk of the food that hasn't passed through your digestive system, it could be water, it could be a lot of stuff.
The best way to track weight IMO is to either weigh weekly, or weigh daily and chart it and see if in general your weight in decreasing everyweek.
lol spirochette! i swear, sometimes i look just for your replies to stuff because you are such a crack up! Keep up the bluntness and never stop being the smart a** !!
As others have said, try to not weigh yourself everyday. I use my Wii every Saturday morning, around the same time. Once a month, my weight will go up nearly the same amount I lost the week before without any calorie increases/exercise decreases. The following week, I will have dropped that amount and some. First time it did this, I was upset but kept going. Now, I figure it's just how my body is coping with weight loss. I don't watch the numbers so much and observe how I look/feel instead. Only numbers I'm really concerned with is how much it's going to cost me to replace all these clothes that are getting much too big. ![]()
