So I gained 6.6 pounds in 2 months...

I run about 40-45 km a week (training for a half-marathon), and these last two weeks I went back to judo training (3 hours/week). So I've been doing about 6 hours of exercise these past two weeks.

I gained about 6.6 pounds since August and I was wondering, how much of it would be muscle and how much of it would be fat? Is there any way to estimate it?

I'm just curious, because my arms and thighs look much bulkier (and the jeans don't fit as well), but I do hope it is more muscle than fat :P. I've also been including some weight lifting in between (before I started the judo training again).

I had another question: if I run about 40 km a week, and also practice judo twice a week (1h 30' Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm), how could I combine those two? I've done judo for about 7 years, I'm a brown belt. Is it ok if I run the same day I train judo, but in the mornings? With proper nutriton and all?

I tend to avoid scales. They do nothing to motivate or de-motivate me. I like the mirror better.

 

I think training two-a-days is fine. I have a friend who is currently doing Judo actually and he still runs a lot.

You gained nearly 7 lbs in two [or less] months? I would feel comfortable telling you none or very, very little of that is muscle unless you are taking roids.

But, it doesn't all have to be fat..you could also be retaining water, need a new scale and/or are weighing yourself on different scales, etc.

Yes, that's what I thought. And of course, I'm not taking anything, except for a couple of vitamin supplements and lots of protein. I must say, though, that I was a bit underweight in July/August, so I guess my body needed that fat that I gained.

I'm probably also retaining water, because it's that time of the month, so who knows. :)
