Weight Loss
Moderators: duke3522, devilish_patsy, topanga1485, nycgirl, spoiled_candy, cmillington, coach_k gained 6 pounds today?
I recently went from 215 down to 190. For the past couple of days I have been really really thirsty. I've also started exercising more so I figured I probably lost a couple of pounds. Last week I lost a pound a day. When I steped on the scale it said I was 196!!! Could this just be water weight? This is the week before my period.not sure if that matters. I do feel a little bloated... I was suprised because I havent seen this since Ive started my diet.

It's got to be fluid retention - it's just not physically possible to gain six pounds overnight. Your body's probably holding water in readiness for your TOTM coming up...
Hmm, this is very odd. But, your weight does fluctuate throughout the day so if you didn't weight yourself at the same time as you have been, that could be a factor. Also, I usually gain 2 or 3 pounds the week before my period, combine that with some water weight and I bet gaining 6 pounds is easily possible. I've never quite gained 6, but I've heard of weight fluctuating between 3 and 5 pounds throughout the day so I wouldn't worry too much!
It takes 3500 calories to equal one pound. Unless you ate 21,000 calories, I would say it's water...no worries.
