I started upping my calories on july 10th and now on july 30th, i have gone from 88 pounds to 99 pounds. is this gaining too fast?

I've been eating 2000 to close to 3000 calories per day, although I do exercise about 45 to an hour per day...

I'm just feeling a little anxiety about gaining so quickly?!

Don't worry! You are at a very low weight, and a lot of it is probably water anyway. When I first upped my calories to 2500+ I gained almost 5lbs in one week! The next week I only gained 2.5lbs and then less than a pound the following week, so it will slow down as your metabolism increases, and you will probably even have to increase your calories to gain. When I started I was eating 2500ish, and now I eat at least 2800-3200 to see a good pound or two gain a week. It just means your body is repairing itself(!!!!) and your metabolism :)

thanks i was optimistic for awhile, but not so much anymore. i'm up 40 pounds. i'm not at a very low weight. 2.5 to 5 pounds would be one thing, but i'm way beyond that kind of range. i didn't mean to hijack this post i guess i just dont know where to turn right now. but i appreciate all of your support and i apologize for my negativity.

cruumby hon, are you still technically in the 'underweight' range? Wish I could give you a hug xoxoxox

yeah i decided just to stay at around 2500 calories or closer to 3000 with exercise and weigh myself once a week and see what happens.

and crumb, what are your stats now?

no not underweight cant share my stats makes me want to throw up

ohh cruumb Im sorry your having such a rough time, I really wish I could say something that would actually help, *hug*

i am sorry for your struggles, i hope things look up for you :(

thanks guys

please keep going cruumbs you so deserve to be happy and healthy just such a shame youve got to fight to get to it , thinking of you h x

every cloud has a silver lining

Cruumb I don't like to set fears into people about possible other health problems but since I do have non ed severe problems and have been brushed off before my dx I get concerned. This may be just a refeeding issue. Your symptoms though with pain, tired, and the quicker weight gain sounds like there may be something else too. Can you ask your family for some finance help to a see a specialist? Even if the weight part is your body just needing it the other issues is not a way to live with pain, tired etc and something like meds etc could help that. Sending thoughts and please continue to take care.

thank you for your thoughts, abbi.  it's so hard to not be taken seriously when i seek medical help.  it's happened so many times that i guess i've just grown to believe my body is just "screwed up."  but i'm not really the kind of person who can settle for that.  i need answers.  unfortunately, i often feel like i'm on my own to try to find them.  i feel so paralyzed right now...it's really the only way to explain it...last night a friend practically had to peel me off the floor to get me to go to the grocery store.  my anxiety is overwhelming and i'm having a really hard time going anywhere or making things happen.  you're right though.  i just can't bear the thought of being told one more time that i'm fine, when i known i'm not.  oy.

How often should you eat during the day?

It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
