Maintaining
Moderators: iae

Well I got to a point where I felt pretty good and I was at a healthy weight (110-111 lbs) so I decided to up my cals and maintain and work on building muscle.  HOWEVER, I now feel like I've gained some weight?  I'm almost 5'5, 19 years old, moderately active female.

Are these just false pounds that will go away in a week or so? Or am I actually gaining weight?

hullo? anybody out there?
You feel like you've gained weight, or the scale has said that you've ganied weight?

the scale says I have (just a few lbs) and I physically feel heavier.
Actually, with your stats you have a BMI that signifies you are underweight.

And if you've begun to work on muscle, those little fluctuations you see could be muscle mass.

Also, when you begin to up your calories, you can see a gain in water weight. Don't stress about this, it goes away in a few days.

Try weighing yourself once every week or two, it will be easier to avoice becoming fixated on fluctuations that way.
Thank you :D. That pretty much answers my question!
