When trying to gain weight, would the peanut butter moo'd shakes from jamba juice be as healthy for you as drinking a protein drink like ensure if you got the added protein boost or the added vitamin & mineral boost?
if not, what makes ensure so great?
The good thing about Ensure is that it crams a decent amount of calories and nutrition into a can (1 cup) so it's often easier than eating the equivalent in food. I don't know the nutritional stats for the Jamba Juice shakes, but as long as you are eating adequate calories to gain and a variety of different foods, nothing wrong with milkshakes/smoothies/whatever.
The Peanut Butter Moo'd has almost 2x as many calories as an Ensure Plus, but it is more liquid. I'd go for the Jamba Juice shake, it's more normal and has more calories.
THe ensure is considered good because it has lots of added vitamins and minerals. But a lot of people don't like the taste, and it's probably not a good thing to be relying on them for your weight gain. And, they are extremely expensive: usually $12.00 for 6 (8 oz) ensures.
