Gaining weigh-ins!!
Let's all post with putting our gaining weigh ins and stats!
What are you doing to gain?? How much have you gained?? And what is your goal??
I am 5'7 and currently 118-122. My lowest was 94 so you do the math!!!
My nutritionist says that 130ish is where I should be..anyone else?

The same things happened to me! When I came home from IP, my nutritionist (no longer seen) wanted me to try more intuitive eating. And even though I was eating about 3000 a day, I still lost weight. Soo frustrating. But then again, when I was in the hospital unit, they upped my calories to around 4400-4600 for the last two weeks I was there because I had stopped gaining. The last four days I was put back on restricted activity and it hardly made a difference. Its crazy! But at least you aren't alone in that.
I haven't actually weighed myself in a good two weeks...I've been trying to up the calories and I was afraid if I saw the scale go up I would chicken out.
But here's my little bitta recent history:
Highest Healthy Weight: 107 (April after IP as well as before relapse in January)
CW (as of two weeks ago) - 83 lbs
LW: In June, was 78-79 lbs
Current Goals - To drive again = 87-90 lbs. Return to college OR job but not both = 95
Long term, I need to weigh more than that obviously. But basically, to get my foot into the doorway that leads to life - I have to be at least 95 pounds. Its a short term goal that I can handle at least. When I get there, it'll be time for a new goal.
Wow, rebelchick, 4400 to 4600 cals. The only way is up. Thanks for that, because I was feeling a bit anxious that there might be something wrong with me. I knew I was counting cals correctly, because that's how the whole sorry mess started.
I'm like you in that I'm working on short-term goals, and going from there. I have about 3 kg/6 lbs to reach my first mini-goal.
Keep fighting ED, and when you get to the doorway that leads to life, slam the door in ED's face!
Best wishes,
Mel.

Okay, so time for an update
Height 170 cm/5'7
starting weight was about 70 kg when I was 15 ten years ago
lw 48 kg/106 lbs -- this was a couple of years back
cw 52.5 kg/115 lbs, but this morning the needle was hovering close to 53 kg. Whether this was water weight, or some such, remains to be seen. Stay tuned. ;-)
Still on 4000 cals, by the by.
Lauren, my dear, mealtimes are your work tasks! Eating's not such a bad job! :-)

LW: 101 lbs.
First GW: 108 lbs.
Last weigh-in: 105
Yesterday's weigh-in: 105
I don't know why I didn't gain, really. I ate probably an average of 4,000 calories last week. Yes, you heard me right—4,000 calories. Oh well. Yay for metabolisms! It's been over a week, too, though. Seriously, that's freaky. Should I increase or wait another week? I have a feeling this isn't right.
Okie: Just keep eating loads! Make that increase, don't wait, the longer you wait the harder it gets. Just think you'll be able to maintain on a lot of cals if youre eating more just now. That's what's keeping me going! *reaches for chocolate* hehe :D
Dolly: Thanks! ^^ Lately, what's been keeping me going is thinking that the more I eat, the quicker I can be over with recovery! But you have such a great point! Maybe If I eat 4500, I'll be able to maintain on 3000. ;D Wouldn't that be fun?!
My first time posting in here...but definatly not my last. I hope that I'm doing this right![]()

okgo,
try adding more protein to your diet like protein shakes, that worked for me to get over the pleateu.

Okie, I've been on 4000 for a week too, and seemingly nothing. I'm starting to think I'm a case for the X-Files!
You can increase or give it another week; it's your choice. Sometimes the metabolism takes a while to settle. Here's an article that I hope will make you feel better. It helped me. http://www-news.uchicago.edu/citations/06/061 126.legrange-nyt.html
You're doing great!

SO I saw my dietican today, and weighed in today. My weight was down 1/2 lb from the last time I saw her, so we upped my meal plan. I'm still up about 3 lbs from when I started here though, so that's good. I feel fine about my weight and upping my cals.
I still haven't used laxatives since Nov. 13th! I'm proud of myself. However, my dad found out I got rid of the scale and is super pissed. He wants me to give him $50, but I don't think he's actually going to make me. If he does, I'm planning on giving it back to him in pennies, so that will be fun!
Hey Meagan,
I'm proud of you too. You've come such a long way from when you started.
Tell your dad you're giving him a healthier, happier daughter, and that's worth more than any silly scale!

Height: 4'10
Weight: 80 pounds
Goal Weight: 99 pounds
Just started accurately following my set eating plan. Getting my first weigh-in since then on Wednesday!
Weigh-in accountability...
Goal: gain 17-22lbs
Last week at "point 0"
Today: maintain
I started off in the mid-3000's and dropped to 3000 by the end of this week.
I'm determined to hold a solid 3500 this week.
And today is DAY ONE even if it is 9:30pm and I have 1000 cals to go--no putting it off, I need the calorie-resources NOW, my life is tick-a-tocking and so are my chances at getting the most out of it!
Hi everyone ![]()
This is my 6th day here (I joined on December 2nd). All of my adult life I've weighed between 105-112 tops (with the exception of my pregnancy with my son..after I gave birth I was happy with the extra weight but I burned it off in a couple of weeks
). I've always been tiny and have a fast metabolism plus an active lifestyle. I have often gone through periods where I would set my mind to trying to add a few more pounds but it seemed the more I would try, the more I would stress and thus the more I would lose. I just didn't have the know-how. I have spent years in the 108-112 range..didn't matter if I ate or didn't eat enough, my weight wouldn't move out of that range.
Over the past few months I've felt extremely drained and fatigued so once again I set my mind to eating healthier and the quest to gain a few more pounds! I decided I would do a little bit of research online and happened upon this great website and forum! I perused the forum and felt a glimmer of hope by reading some success stories. I equipped myself with the ever-so-helpful calorie counter tool (prior to coming here I was helpless and clueless as to how to count calories, actually being able to visually see what I'm eating versus what I'm burning has been a huge help). The other significant help is the motivation through reading all of your postings. You all seem to be a wonderful group of people and genuinely care about each others success. Because of all this my weigh-in today (first weigh in) was 119.5. I don't feel bloated and it's not all sitting in my tummy!
My goal weight was 120 and I'm getting there faster than I thought. I may want to add on a bit more than that..I'll be using this site to continue my journey and eventually work out and maintain my ideal weight.
Thank to all of you, I continue to look forward to reading your posts! :)

Thanks, Mel! I love it when you respond to my posts! You always make me feel so good about recovery!
Excellent, excellent job with the 4000 cals! You are such an inspiration! Hope that .5 wasn't water weight. You're original "deadline" for weight gain is coming up, and I know you aren't where you wanted to be, but I think you have achieve SO much in this short amount of time, and I have absolutely no doubt that you can keep it up!
Hi Meagan,
Thanks heaps for all your kind words. Hope you're going well, and are holding ED at bay!
I'm at 53 kg now--2 kg till I hit my minimum healthy BMI. I'm not stopping there--at least a BMI of 20, and then I'll listen to my body. I have my moments--who doesn't?--but I refuse to back down. No one should have to live with ED. Let's send it packing!

I started my weight gain food plan 3 days ago.
I now weigh 88, after being around 80 exactly a week ago. Umm..is this normal? Will I continue ballooning like this? Also, could the fact that I ate and drank quite a bit before getting weighed be influential to such a large amount of weight gain? I'm pleased but a little anxious at the same time.
hotsauce- congrats on starting recovery! However, there's really almost no chance those 8 lbs are real, especially since you drank a lot before. When you first begin eating more again, your body tends to hold on to water weight, and that will eventually flush out. So while it's great that you're pleased with the gain, be prepared to maybe see it go down a bit next time or in 2 weeks. Don't let any of this discourage you from eating though!
gemini- hey! sorry i'm going to have to tell you the same thing I said to hotsauce, if you've jumped from 112 to 119 or 120 in 6 days, you're probably just hanging on to water weight. BUt keep going! It seems you naturally just eat less and are more active so this will take a more concious effort, which I know can be very tiring. Use this site to help you learn what yo're doing wrong and where you could improve and hopefully you'll pick up better habits that will keep you at a healthier weight in the long term.
splenda/ mel- so proud of both of you!
