Gaining Weight Over The Summer
Hello,
I am 16 years old, 5'8", 117ish pounds, and about a 6 inch wrist size. I have recently applied for the military; however, I need to work on my fitness. I work out Monday, Wednesday and Friday running 2 miles, doing push ups, sit ups and chin ups. Every week I increase the intensity by running further and adding on more reps to the physical stuff. As i am already very thin and a little bit afraid to lose weight more than gain muscle, is there a certain diet of food i should eat strictly to help me achieve my goal of gaining 35lbs of muscle to be 155lbs.
Thanks,
Mike
You should check on the Weight Gain Forum. Lots of great advice.
I know that if you want to gain, you need min 3000 cals, more if you're active.
Hey, first I would suggest that you cut running more than 30min, three times a week. Or cut it all together and use H.I.I.T instead to limit the amount to keep the amount of fat gained while bulking to a minimum. Second take maintance caloric needs + activity and add a 250-500 cals if your looking to gain only muscle and little fat. As to diet, depends, I can't recommend one off the top of my head but just make sure ut "clean foods" and not junk so it will be easier to lose extra fat gain during the bulk.
Thanks for the help :)
