gaining weight under special condition
Hi, everyone. My name's Catalina, you can call me by my username if you want. I want to ask a question about gaining weight: When I entered, it only had the options of weight loss or maintainance. My problem is a bit complicated, because I have hypermobility ehlers-danlos syndrome, I am 10kg underweight, so I can't try to gain fast, I have to go in a very slow and healthy way. Can this site help me as a guide, or should I rely just on a specialist?
this site CAN BE very great for support, but we are all normal people who are struggling as well, and we can offer advice from our own research and experience, but being that you're severely underweight and have a special condition, i would definitely see a doctor. it's great to come on here to talk to people who can relate and to just vent at times because we are all going through something, but as far as your physical health goes...see a specialist! :) i wish you well and i hope you battle this successfully, you WILL win the battle. you just have to stay at it and take it one step at a time.

I am in the health care services and would say CC has a great Food log to give oyu the break down of food nutrients and calories.
If you set up your specs on cc, saying what you need in calories and what your future goal is for weight gain...the program will help some.
You specialist will tell you your limit in calorie intake per day and hopefully give you a proper diet to support your goal.
Be interesting to know your age, if anyone in your family has this propblem and when did this diagnosis happen.
I would suggest you keep a diary either written or electronic and that you also take your Blood Pressure often with one of those home wrist BP devices.
If you have any other questions pls ask, if no one knows or can contribute they won't...this is a good place to ask and a good place to put your thoughts out there. I am one person who likes to learn more about health problems like yours because is different fro weight loss problems.

By utalizing the burn tool, and the activity log you can know how much energy you burn in a day. From there you just just eat 300-500 calories more then you burn every day. That should give you a very slow gain.
