gallbladder surgery recover
in general, how long does it take to recover from/return to work after laproscopic gallbladder surgery?
i had laproscopic hernia surgery and i was out of work for 2 weeks...the second week was worse than the first! is gallbladder surgery pretty comprable to this?
thanks and happy fourth of july,
julie
The first few days, post laproscopic gallbladder surgery was quite sore, stayed on the coach and people waited on me as getting up and down was uncomfortable. I took a week off work - my job is mostley sitting. Took pain killers first and second day, Tylenol 3, after that not required as the pain was considerably less. Dr advised no heavy lifting for six weeks. By day three I was able to get up from chair easier, walking was easier - could straighten up a bit more. By day 6 was quite a bit better and able to do for self. End of second week, had worked all week and was back on my bicyle doing 20 miles, every other day.

i'm a 20 y/o female, had mine out on may 22 of this year. i had it out on a thursday (the thursday before memorial day weekend). i was pretty sore, but by saturday i felt good enough to go hangout with my friends, and by tuesday i was back at work (i would've gone back monday, but it was memorial day and my job was closed
)
you should do fine!
The second day of recovery is the worst. I only took off a week. I had surgery on a Friday and exactly one week later I went out and celebrated with my friends.
