Geez, guys. Wake up already!

Quote  |  Reply

I got frozen at work and since getting knocked up have been unable to stay awake for more than nine hours.  So, naturally, twelve hours into my shift I'm praying to fall down the stairs or come across some harsh chemicals so I can leave.  I'm stuck here until at least noon.  One PM if I want to finish out the shift and not force my co-workers to cover my zone.

That means you guys need to wake up and keep me decently entertained.  Come on, I'd do the same for you!

well, this seems like a good opportunity to tell you how much i HATE phlebotomists.

six days and five nights in the hospital, my non-IV arm was black and blue, and the vampires had abused my one good vein to such a degree that i thought i might never recover.  i was actually relieved when one of them needed to hit up an artery instead of a vein.  waking me up at all hours of the night, filling vial after vial with my precious lifestream...at one point i had three different people come in within an hour to stab me.  and now that i'm out, do you think i'm free?  nope.  i have to go to the hospital daily to have my INR tested.

at least now they can alternate arms.

Sounds like my last bloodwork trip. Ended up with bruises around the crooks of both arms. At one point the butterfly needle was so poorly inserted that the blood pushed it back out or something? It came out.

Huh, I guess that story wasn't very entertaining.

Ugh.  I fell asleep at the desk after typing this.  I have no recollection of anything from this point until Alex woke me up with pizza last night.

PG, I'm sorry you live in a land of **** phlebotomists.  And I'm even more sorry you preferred arterial draws to venous.  I would've asked if they had iSTAT INR's, that way they could've just poked your finger tips.

Congrats on the parasite!

Fingertips hurt way more than veins...I shudder everytime someone comes near me with one of those finger prickers.

Arterial hurts worse than both in my opinion. D;
