George Bush - good or bad?

So, anyone care to offer up your feelings on our current President?  Open forum!  :o)

well, a disclaimer: he's not my president.  i'm canadian.

that said, ba-a-ad.  i think he's incapable of rational thought.

I agree.  It's beyond me - and, what's really funny is that all the fear they've been spreading?  I thought I was immuned -- I kept thinking it wasn't affecting me -- but, I realized recently that I'm becoming afraid -- but, it's of my own government.

Scary.

yeah, he's also more than a little infectious.  we have a prime minister who's so concerned with keeping on george w's good side economically, he's adopting his political policies.

At least they can't run Cheney or Rumsfeld for a successor.  Thank whoever.

oooh so bad I'm so ashamed and embaressed evertime I see him on tv or in pics I really can't stand him...on a good note he has made me more involved in politics!!

Sure Bush is bad...awful, really (in time we'll see just how bad).  So's Cheney, Rove, the whole bunch.  But ask yourself this: who elected them and what was going through their mind?  If everyone hated Bush we wouldn't be having this conversation.  I hope America has learned...

Possibly the worst ever?  Have any of you seen the comedy videos he stars in on youtube.  One word: YIKES.

Okay, I'll chime in.

I love him. He's a GREAT president. Really. Contrary to popular belief, he is far from stupid, and he has the cojones to govern according to what he feels is right, and -- more importantly -- he doesn't govern by polls. The same cannot be said about his predecessor -- who accomplished what, exactly, during his 8 years in office????

Bush may be hated now, but history will treat him more kindly. Abraham Lincoln was hated during his time, too.

I shudder to think what all a Dem can undo if elected to office in 2008. Raise taxes,  surrender to al Qaeda,  re-implement the  "Fairness Doctrine" (HA!  What  a joke) - you name it. It would be Carter 2.0...

He governs according to what 'he feels is right'?  Regardless of what the rest of the country wants?  He and his cronies have mislead from the start.  What amazes me is how stupid America has been.  They lead by intimidation and fear - same as the Germans did!

As for what did the Clinton Administration do?  He managed to keep us out of war the entire 8 years, to have a budget surplus for the first time in forever -- Pretty much the exact opposite of what they have done for the last 7 years.  :o)

i have a theory about why bush was re-elected.  it's not flattering to middle america, so i'll apologize right up front.

i think bush's first election was such a huge mistake that voters spent the next four years trying to rationalize why it wasn't so bad.  and his choices were so offensive that people who didn't vote for him had to rationalize, too. 

instead of admitting that 9-11 was the direct result of american foreign policy, unsophisticated voters were happy to blame al qaeda (or--really--anyone brownish).  it's a whole lot easier to see yourself and your neighbours (and your president) as right and good rather than consider the possibility that you f***ed up.
