Gestinational Diabetes
I would like to help at least one person by posting. I am 46 years old and was gestational when I was pregnant with my now 21 year old son. My blood sugars were high and I ate all the right foods. During pregnancy is not a good time to do calorie restriction but to better monitor what you are eating. Make it healthy fruits and vegetables along with dairy.
My history is simple both my grandparents and father are diabetic and I was prone to get it because of that fact. The precious baby I had weighed over 9 pounds so later in life he might be more suspectible to it because of invitro and family history.
The point I was wanting to make is take care of yourself now while pregant to ward off this terrible disease of diabetes. Simple exercise, eating right and don't forget those prenatal vitamins will do your body good.
Don't take too long to get back into shape, remember after delivery you are no longer eating for two or more. You are eating for one and that one is YOU! I wish I would have been wiser and listened to my parents. Maybe your parents have warned you to be careful. Somehow, I thought my experience my help someone and I thought I'd share the importance of eating right, not restricting and exercising. ANd to get back on your target weight as soon as possible that it is healthy for you both, especially if you are breastfeeding like I did.
Take care and God Bless.
