okay going to a party tomorrow night where the main goal is to get drunk lol we do this maybe once a year or two and i wanna be able to do it this time....
so any suggestions on how i can drink and not totally blow my diet out the window?
i like vodka...so i was thinking maybe vodka and sprite?more vodka than sprite. a few of those after not drink in a LONG time i would think i'll be feelin' pretty good lol but how do i work that in? say:
i plan on drinking 500cal in drinks
my normal cal. intake a day is 1500 to 1600
so do i just eat around 1000cal tomorrow to leave room for the drinking?
or do i still eat my 1500 to get the nutrition and drink and just have that day that i go well over my cal.?
any help would be great. thanks!
hmmm you could spread out ur cals for the day so that u eat the most somewhat shortly before u drink. that way you dont get too drunk or sick too fast.
thats my recommendation if you wna save for the alcohol, allowance wise....
but i never seem to stay in my limit on drinkin nights lol
havent planned it out too diligently tho either so perhaps you will succeed.
either way have fun its only one night. dnt stress it too much

How about just taking a maintenance day? You can probably safely eat (without knowing your stats) 2000-2200 without gaining an oz. Just eat 1500 cal of food and then enjoy your night (sensibly!). One day wont hinder your progress as long as you get back into counting the next day!

dont drink with regular pop. that will add sooo many more cals.
Drink vodka with water and squeeze in some limes, or drink with soda water and limes.
Mix up some crystal light and drink it with vodka.
that way you're only adding cals from the vodka- not what you add to it.
One oz of vodka has around 65 cals.
Vodka and club is the "best diet friendly alcoholic beverage" next to wine mixed with club.
tequila (preferably Patron) and Grand Marnier (approx. 50/50 mix) on the rocks. Trust me, it's great and will do the trick.
i don't think you should limit your food intake that much, because it might leave you too hungry and less likely to make wise food choices once you've been drinking.

I agree with a previous poster in that you may not want to restrict calories all that much, and make it a maintenance day. One evening will not hinder progress. Mix liquor (vodka, rum) with diet sodas or sugar free mixers.
That being said, why is getting drunk the main goal of this party? (I haven't done that since just of college at a mardis gras bash....)
Vodka with diet tonic and a twist of lime. Eat something--don't get really drunk or you will regret it the next day and eat too much!
Once every year or two? I would eat the 1500 and let the drinks go over that. Even if you drink everything in sight, you're not going to ruin your diet.
My favorite vodka drink: White Russian
DO NOT RESTRICT YOUR CALORIES!!! That is a bad idea. I used to do that every weekend and it wound up hurting me in the end. I developed a very nasty eating disorder and it has been very hard tying to recover.
Instead just eat normal, do not think about food, and enjoy youself. Life is too short to be constantly worried about what you eat. Just have fun, and get drunk. Also try mixing the booze with diet soda. You'll save calories and be able to drink a few more drinks.
yeah i kinda tried to factor drinking into my calories yesterday, hadn't eaten enough so after i drank i came back at 3 a.m. and ate pbj and some soy crisps. im mad i hate when i eat at night! anyway, id say definitely have your alcohol with something that has no calories (last night i had vodka and diet dr. pepper, it was ok haha) good luck just have a little fun you only do this once a year so its not a big deal if you stay exactly within your calorie range!

How about on a treadmill....Vodka Martini in a plastic drink container in one cup holder...veggie and fruit slices in the other cup holder...while walking listening to party music? Best of all worlds.

oh we have a kinda "getting drunk party" about every or two. we (my husband, myself, and our group of friends) all got married really really young. then we all had children really really young. now i'm not saying that we regret it or it's a bad thing. but all of sort of forfitted our "parting years". we are all good responsible parents and we all work hard and take care of our kids. but maybe once a year or so we ship the kids to grandma's house and get all go to someones house and get stupid drunk lol may sound stupid but it's fun and we do it responsibly.
now this year i'm on this diet and i want to still be able to do this and not blow my diet. i mean, it's not like i'm looking to do this everynight, every weekend, or even once a month...

In many places, Amsterdam for example, it is legal to smoke marijuana. Maybe that's where some of calorie-count's participants reside. I don't believe use of this website is restricted to US citizens only.
Anyway, don't eat too much before you go drinking. Have three or four blueberry vodkas mixed with club soda. Drink water and have a multivitamin before you go to bed. Have fun.
