Credit every time.... I get 1% cashback on my cards and pay off the balance each month so it's a nice little earner.
if shopping online, i will use my credit card. in the stores, i will use cash, or my check card
cash.. I can't afford more credit card debt!!!
Cash only. I cut up all my credit cards two years ago.
I won't even use my debit card because cash is easier to keep track of.
Credit - cash back (3% on certain stuff, 1% on everything else).
I can see exactly how much was spent over the past two months of shopping, I don't have the option to forget the $5 mini gift or that after taxes, I actually spent $25.62, not an even $22. It all adds up, and with my credit card, I can see exactly by how much.
And I pay the card off in full every month, so no debt for me.
Cash goes bye bye from my wallet, and an hour later, I have no idea where it went.
Neither: Debit. :D
Don't see how cash is easier to keep track of; love online banking.
I use my Chase Visa Check Card. I get 1 point for every dollor i use. Recently I snagged 2 $15.00 Sephora gift Cards and an AMC Movie Gift Card. So AMC goes to the boy that mows my grass and the other 2 are for me lol. I also Start shopping early and rarely go to department stores. I found a Ralph Lauren sweater blanket at Ollies a store that has everything thrown in it is springfield ohio. for only 19.00 same one sale price last weekend but in the nice ralph lauren box was 50.00 I vought a cute box that matches my friends decore thru it in their with a couple candle and alacazam. Designer gift for only $30.00. $20.00 in savings doesn't seem like a whole lot but when I have god children to buy for I can get awsome pj's and books every year for about 12.00 a kid.

Ditto.
One credit card for online purchases, paid every month - the rest Debit.
Well, being that I only use plastic in the first place, there is no exception in the gift department. I use a couple different rewards cards, and get between 1-3% cash back. I pay them in full every month. Every time I use the plastic, it is like free money due to the rewards.
I do 98% of my shopping online, and I like to get it done as early as possible. I was done shopping a couple weeks ago, and all the presents are already wrapped and under the tree.
Edit: I also tag everything that is a gift as "gifts given" in Quicken. Makes it super easy to make sure the holidays don't get out of hand. I have a set budget for the entire year, which includes birthdays, Christmas, etc. It would be a LOT harder to track with cash.
Don't own a credit card. I use debit because I don't like to carry much cash and what I do carry I want to save for when I might need it. I also don't like *handing* over money, it's easier to spend invisible money...which sounds bad lol but it works for me because I'm very money conscious.
Credit when buying on-line and buying/shipping in the US. Debit for any local (European) purchases because the credit card has a hefty exchange charge.
Credit always. I don't feel safe carrying cash around. We buy everything on credit and pay it off with the each paycheck, so our credit cards are getting paid off completely twice a month. Alex likes the rewards annd I like the good marks on my credit history.
Except when it comes to the Hooters card, I like the rewards. :D
Debit.
I too use my debit card. And I space out gift buying $50 bucks a paycheck 2 months prior leading up to xmas (letting me spend $400 on everything). See, I'm a smart thinker. :) Credit cards are dangerous.
Cash only.
Credit, but like so many other posters we pay off our bill 100% each month. Helps build our credit and we get cash back on everything.
I use my debit card for literally everything. I even use it to buy things under a dollar sometimes.
My husband and I have only lived in the US for 2 years now and no one will give us a credit card... the only thing we have is our car loan and he's co-signer with my grandmother as the one who has the loan (I'm not even on it! :().

Me too and everything goes on that card, anything a dollar or more because they all add up to a total that I get 1% although its not cashback but gasoline credit (Exxon mastercard).
