Gift idea for the work place

Quote  |  Reply

Im needing a gift idea for two women who share an office. I dont want it looking like a 'gift' gift as in them thinking to get me anything - more of a token item to show appreciation but that doesnt mean it has to be cheap - just not an obvious 'present'.

Both are dieters, one with gastric bypass so not thinking food, even healthy as one had bypass so eats very little and probably reacts to certain foods.

Its a shared gift - mainly a thank you so thinking something they would keep / enjoy in the office.

Im gift-idea challenged - any thoughts?

Bath & Body Works has their hand soaps on sale right now, 4 for $10.  That's what I got all the ladies I work with.  Giving them 2 each.  Just a token gift, really.  We don't spend that much on each other, it would get too expensive.

How about a nice plant? They always brighten up an office and make it more livable. You can easily get one for under $10 and you can always add a fancy pot to put it in.

Liqour!

Bath towels! Nice, fluffy ones. :D

How about Christmas ornaments or nice scented candles?

And I'll second the plant idea - you can get a nice pot of poinsettias for a very reasonable price this time of year.

A plant...you could also decorate it for Christmas every year. How about the Christmas Cactus? They live a long time....seems like poinsettias die after a couple of weeks. At least, in my care they do.

Get little tiny Christmas ornaments from the Dept. 56 collection and some garland. That would be so cute.

Great ideas! Im in a time crunch so can keep all in mind shopping before I head over!

a themed desk/wall calander... pick one that suits their personalities/interests.

Scarves, shawls

I got my friend a daily tear-off calendar for her cubicle. It has a picture of chocolate each day with a chocolatey quote. you could get an inspirational quote calendar since a chocolate one is not exactly diet proof!

And there's always gift cards, maybe for a bookstore?

this doesn't help necessarily for now, but i usually try to get my co-workers and clients gifts when i return from trips to show my appreciation without them having to think they need to get me something in exchange.
