Gift ideas for someone on a tight budget.

Hey all!

The bf's b-day is in a couple weeks and I am quite broke. I am starting a new job soon but there has been a few week gap which is killing me. So any gift ideas that cost little to nothing?? I draw/paint so in the past I have done that when i'm tight on money.. but I want to do something that hasn't been done before.

Knit him a hat.  Seriously.  It only takes a day to learn to knit and it only takes a day - day and a half to make a hat.  Easy peasy.  Knitting needles are only a few bucks if you buy cheap ones (Boye's) and a thing of yarn is only a few bucks.

Here's where I learned to knit.

This is a hat I made for my husband.  I had been knitting for a whopping 5 days or so when I made it.

Make him a coupon book. You can do ones like you'll cook his favorite dinner, a massage, foot rub, etc. Something you know he will like.

Before you go determining what kind of present to invest in.  How long have you two been dating, or how serious is the relationship...  Because that does play a factor in the expense that goes into a gift, or the sentimental value behind an inexpensive gift. 

Not to sound like a dog or anything but the best presents that I ever recieved on my b-day from my girlfriends were, well not the "PG" kind...

For my husbands last birthday I gave him  a Kama Sutra  and the Coupons book to go with it! It was the greatest combined gift. He was a happy camper. <3

So I would say depending upon your level of intimacy that may be perfect! 

Take into account your comfort zone and intimacy level though. You could home make the coupons or buy them. You could also decide on a certain level of rating depending upon your relationship. Do what works for you. All sorts are sold at different book stores in the mall,ect. They aren't expensive. The funny thing is they actually id'ed me for the purchase. :)
