gift ideas for xmas
okay so I know its early, but christmas will be here before we know it,
and I am horrible with gifts! I thought maybe if people had
really good gift ideas they could post them for inspiration for the
rest of us :-)
my main problem is my brother, he's 22 and moving out of the house in a week and I have no idea what to get him! He usually buys it if he wants it, so I have no clue. I'm abroad in London right now, but still have no idea what to get! What does a 22 year-old guy want from his little sis?

If he's moving out of the house - maybe some household items? Pots and pans? A vacuum? Dishes?
well he's moving out of the house, but lived in an apartment at school
for 3 years...and he's moving in with my cousin so he already has a lot
of that stuff
Does he have any hobbies?
Maybe a guitar? Music? A gift certificate for a cool adventure or an electronics store?

I love shopping for Christmas gifts. I seem to be really good at giving gifts to everyone but my parents. This year I'm getting them a digital camera. It's something they've been wanting but they never buy (even though they have the money). For my sister (she's almost 19) I'm just going to buy her clothes or something. I know there's this coat she wants from Delia's so I'll probably buy her that.
Brothers can be difficult to shop for. My mom always bought her brothers socks and underwear because they will rarely buy that for themselves. My brother really like the Guiness book of World Records so when they had a big volume with color pictures, I got him that one year. I also buy him stocking hats sometimes because he works outside and shaves his head so he gets really cold. It kinda depends on what he will use but I find useful stuff the best for my bro.
One of the best gifts I have ever received was from my brother for our wedding. It was a gift certificate for a dinner at a restaurant and a night in a hotel suite and gift certificates for a bookstore. It was perfect for my husband and I because we absolutely love to read and it gave us time away. Maybe you could do something like that on a smaller scale. Like a concert and a dinner or something.

Give him money, you can never go wrong with cash-money!!
there's always porn....(hahaha)
I'm pretty sure most 22 year old guys just want their little sisters to not date any of their friends.
In all seriousness, how about an Amazon.com gift certificate? That covers movies, music, games, books, and about anything else you could ask for. Plus, you can send them via e-mail, so you won't have to worry about getting it from London to the US.

I found this website earlier today - looking for ideas for things to give that don't cost much. http://www.buynothingchristmas.org/alternativ es/index.html
all kidding aside.....it is a pretty heavy sports season....I know that I LOVE jerseys and stuff....they can get pricey but you could get a personalized jersey from his fav team....
What does your brother buy you? I've learned that a person's likes and dislikes are often revealed in the gifts they buy other people. Unless he's very, very tuned into your likes and dislikes, he might buy you things that he likes!
