Come on now - who really asks a girl at a club at 1am if she is expecting?
!!!
I have been getting SO many compliments from my family, friends and coworkers. I have lost 21lbs and have 19 until my goal.
Granted the shirt I was wearing didn't help - but seriously - who asks a girl at 1am in a night club when he has a drink in her hand is she expecting.
Talk about setting your motivation back a few steps.

A really drunk guy!
Ignore that! Focus on the positive comments you've been getting, all those people can't be wrong. And 21 pounds is loads of weight to lose so kudos to you my dear.
the kind of guy who isn't getting lucky?
Don't take it to heart. There will always be those who love you, and there will always be #%$holes too.
um...lemme guess...been wearing an umpire cut top? I'm 105 and I look very pregnant in tops like that.
When my 12 year old daughter started school last year one of her teachers from the previous year came up to me, actually put her hands on my tummy and got this huge smile on her face. She started to say something to me. Before she could, I removed her rude hands and said "Nope, just fat"
You never assume someone is pregnant. I don't care if they are 8 months along. Until they tell you they are pregnant, you DON'T SAY ANYTHING!
On the other hand, WOW, how motivating for me to lose my tummy!
Something very similar happened to me. I went to the local chinese resturaunt to pick up lunch for hte office. The lady at the counter had the nerve to ask how far along was I. I've since lost 30 pounds!!! What motivation!!!! I also haven't eaten there since!
I got denied access to the giant fun slide at the fair one year 'cuz I ws wearing a blousy top and the gomer who was runnig it thought i was pregnant. he just up and said it in his southern drawl, "ma'am, you expectin'?" My husband and I still laugh our butts off over it.
Isn't it funny how you can receive soooo many compliments from friends and family, and all it takes is one schmuck to ruin your day? I'm exactly the same way. You have done a great job though--try to put his stupid drunk voice out of your head and focus on your progress and how much better you feel. Pull out pictures from 21 lbs ago and look in the mirror. You will feel better.
And go_lucky...Ialmost spit out my coffee laughing. He's DEFINITELY not getting lucky!!! ![]()
Some people are just idiots and don't think before they speak.... I would just forget the comment and realize you've done an amazing job so far! Congrats on the weight lost!!
If it was a guy, then he should definitely have kept his mouth shut, but I have to ask, would you rather assume that you are simply fat?
Please don't be insulted by my question. I really want to know. As for the part about it being 1am in a club, unfortunately, too many expectant mothers these days are too selfish to give up smoking and alcohol for the sake of their unborn children, so you just can't tell anymore.
so, techdog, what you are wondering is if it's better to assume someone is fat or to ask them if they are a selfish, fetus-risking expectant mother?? Wow that seems like kind of a no-brainer.
And yes,,,even in a grocery store, gym, mall, or workplace, much better to assume in your head that someone is a little hefty around the middle (or wearing an unflattering top) than ask them if they are pregnant!! Never never ask that question unless someone is currently in labour! It's just plain mean!
