So sure enough I go straight to the grocery store, buy some raspberry yogurt and dip my strawberries in it! yum yum. Does anyone else have any clever food ideas? I honestly just eat everything plain. I absolutely love granola cereal so sometimes for breakfast instead of eating it with milk I add it into yogurt (I usually use strawberry yogurt but I'm sure any flavor would taste good!)

i often have my strawberrries or  fruit salad with a low fat yoghurt instead of cream now too. (strawberries & muller light toffee yoghurt ....mmmmm yum)

i have a very simple breakfast that makes me feel i ate an apple pie

i boil golden apple just till they go soft

remove the skin -but dont throw it away i actually like its taste-

slice it up real thin

put it on a whole wheet toast

sprinkle some cinnamon and splenda

leave it to cool - it carmalizes very nicely

Bon Appetite

i love to take grapes and wash them, roll them in sugar free jello and freeze them on some wax pape in a pan, very good and tasty,  it is a sweet treat....

My new discovery (I'm sure well known) cottage cheese with diced mango. But the apple sounds great. I have to try it.

I take one teaspoon of peanutbutter (30 calories in one teaspoon) and I take 7 mini-rice cakes (60 calories...usually chocolate or caramel) and spread a thin layer of peanut butter on each mini rice cake.  OMG SOOOO DELISH! And it's only 90 calories!

i frequently add a little honey to my cottage cheese for something sweet. its really good. and i eat a lot of my fruit with part skim ricotta cheese sprinkled with a touch of sugar (real sugar not artificial sweetner). its so yummy.

I love plain, no fat greek yogurt with a little cherry sugar free jello powder stirred into it for flavor and sweetness.

I love warm desserts, chocolate and crunchy stuff..

so for a light-ish desert, i put a small handlful of fiber one ceral, put a square of 85% dark chocolate (Lindt knows how to make dark chocolate!) put it in the microwave for 40 seconds until the chocolate has melted..

mixed it all up, add a couple of almonds, and tiny bit of milk so it's not too dry...maybe a couple of straweberries...I personally absolutely love it and it comes up to about 100 calories..

I like to dip strawberries, oranges or apples in unsweetened cocoa powder and Equal (you can also try truvia or plain yogurt) it is so chocolatly and yummy!

another creation to dip strawberries in (i use it for parties) is lemon or lime yogurt - usually the light kind - and mix it with some fat free cool whip. So it's like a cream cheese fruit dip only lighter :)

I like to dip strawberries in sf ff chocolate pudding.  YUMMY

I'm totally tagging this thread! Great ideas... the original poster will be happy! I love making creations and some of these are new to me. I myself just ate my usual kashi cereal (good friend's variety), yogurt, mango (or other fruit) and cinnamon.

Fresh fruit, plain yogurt and a tablespoon of jam (I use the double fruit kind since it has less sugar and tastes fresher/fruitier).  Favourite combinations include:

  • pineapple, yogurt, apricot jam
  • peach and/or apricot, yogurt, raspberry jam
  • berries, yogurt, honey (1 tsp. instead of 1 tbsp.)

Frozen berries with plain yogurt are also very good.

strawberries + salt + a little balsamic vinegar

yum.

strawberries dipped in cottage cheese is even better(sweet and salty). I like to make no cereal-cereal with berries ,nuts ,apples, honey roasted soy nuts, and milk

This one is pretty plain, but it almost tastes like ice cream: freeze a peeled banana in a plastic baggie.  If anyone knows a good way to make it more interesting, do let me know!

I have an obsession with dipping foods in other foods. I decided the other day I wanted a "dip" for pretzels. Fat free cream cheese that you let soften a bit, mixed with sugar free strawberry jam till it's mixed well is wonderful.

Tonight after work I had took a banana, better n butter and fat free cream cheese and wrapped it in a low cal tortilla. Yum-o! I love this thread btw!

I always dip fresh fruit in yogurt! It's the best. A flavor I really like, that might sound strange to some people, is coffee yogurt. I tend to use bananas for that one and the combination works perfectly.

You can also dip yogurt into hot steaming oatmeal. One example, vanilla yogurt dipped in banana oatmeal. It's almost like a dessert, but healthy! Mmm.

I also take spoonfuls of peanut butter and dip it in oatmeal. If you get a more "sticky" textured peanut butter, that makes it last longer, as opposed to "runny" textured peanut butter.

That's all I can think of right now...

My all-time favourite dessert:

1 small banana (or half of a large one)

4 roasted walnuts/almonds/whatever nuts you like

1 dark chocolate square

Cut the banana and the chocolate square into 8 pieces, and the nuts into halves.

Put banana pieces on plate, top each with half a nut and a chocolate piece. Microwave for 30 seconds or until the chocolate has just melted. Eat hot or freeze for 15-30 minutes (so the chocolate will still be pretty soft).

The whole thing is super healthy and the flavour combo (banana + roasted nut + chocolate) is insanely delicious. Not to mention that it comes out to just 100-150 cals. I let everything melt in my mouth and savour every last particle of it, I swear it`s very satisfying for those sweet cravings or little treat times.
