%$&# you, Girl Guides!

Only one day after I got all the chocolate out of the house, they show up on my doorstep with cookies. I should have just given them the money and asked them to keep the cookies! Half the box is already gone.

Throwing the other half out now. Grrr. I hate that my willpower is so weak!

I do that when they come by with chocolate bars for school fundraisers.  Give them the money and tell the kids to enjoy the chocolate bar.  They need it more than I do.

i sold cookie dough for my daughter one year and because everyone i knew was on a diet, i offered to donate their cookie dough to a local homeless shelter

was a good idea

it helped my daughter's school AND the homeless shelter

but the downside was that I had a freezer FULL of cookie dough and each container weighed 5 lbs, so it took me a while to carry it to the shelter 4 or 5 containers at a time. guess that was good exercise though!  Smile

still, it's easier to resist frozen cookie dough than packages of cookie

Yeah, a few weeks ago I thought I would solve the cravings by buying Toll House breakaparts and keep them in the freezer and only bake one or two at a time. One or two soon turned to 6 or 8... So much for good intentions!

I'm getting better at stopping myself. The other day I was with a friend at a bakery, and she bought a brownie for later. I almost bought one as well, then put it back. Same with some Lindt balls at the store the other day.

I'm trying to reprogram my brain to tell me that it's NOT okay to eat whatever I feel like. I spent years recovering from an ED by giving myself freedom to eat as I choose. And it backfired big time.

I'm now realizing that this control issue over food is much deeper than I thought! And sometimes, control isn't always a bad thing.

Hi

You can support the Girl Scouts by buying cookies for the service men.  Just tell them here is the money but instead send the cookies to the troops.  I belive you can also go to the National or local websites and donate :-)

I have a really hard time passing them up, I was in Girl Scouts for 10 years  and a Girl Scout Leader for a year, and now am a Scoutmaster for my son's Boy Scout Troop.  I understand how important it is to support the Scouts.

I buy about 10 boxes a year, 5 from my Granddaughter in OH, let them keep them, the rest here.  I open the package at nwork eat one cookie and make friends with the rest.  (less tempting)

I have found that groups selling cookies or candy are perfectly happy if you give them a donation without taking what they are selling.  So listen to yourself next time!  That way you still get to help them, without bringing temptation home.

i ordered a ton of chocolate from my boyfriend's brother a week before we decided to lose weight.  i still haven't gotten my order yet, but i think it's coming soon.  ugh.  i'm regretting it, but the chocolate is just SO damn good!  i think i'm gonna freeze it and ration it.  i hope that works... probably not.  Tongue out
