girl question for girl problem...working out during?

Quote  |  Reply

Hopefully the title was enough so guys got fair warning not to read if grossed out!  Lol.

Anyways, basically I feel a girl infection coming on- and I do NOT WANT IT IN THE WORST WAY.  I had one over Thanksgiving and that was AWFUL, and now I have a party to go to tomorrow night and it's just bad timing!  So I picked up some over the counter stuff, and am drinking cranberry juice, and hopefully it will stop it from being full blown. (I know twice in such a short amount of time- I am kindof sensative to getting them sometimes...)

My question is- I was planning on running on the treadmill for 45 min after work- and I feel fine to do so but maybe the sweat + heat + moisture isn't a good idea????  I am looking for any opinions- I am NOT one to skip a workout but if it would help my infection from getting worse maybe?

Thank you. :)

ok well I did some more research... I have found sweating is good for getting those toxins out of your body, so looks like I'm still working out!  Yay.

If you're talking yeast infection, one of my very best friends whom I would trust with my life told me (prepare yourself) that she sticks a whole peeled clove of garlic up there and leaves it for several hours.  I don't get those kind of infections, but according to her it was a super quick fix.

I guess my first question is if you just had a yeast infection and feel like you are getting another one... maybe you should evaluate why you are getting them.... also cranberry juice is good for bladder infection only if diluted and 100% juice.  Juice can make things much worse by giving yeast sugary substances to consume.  I would recommend talking to a good gyno about better methods of prevention like (i know it sounds gross) but not washing your girl bits with soap... soap is alkaline and your junk should be acidic to ward off infection (this also applies to bubble bath), urinating before and after sex, not wearing tight synthetic underwear, no douche!, no perfumed pads or tampons and the list goes on and on

However running at the gym shouldn't be a problem... sweat is good for you!

I wanted to ask whether it was a vaginal infection or a bladder one ?  Two different things and two different answers !

Are you talking about a bladder infection (germs) or a yeast 'infection' which is just overgrowth of your natural flora. If it's a bladder infection, it's not good to work out hard when your body is under stress... let the antibiotics do their job and only exercise lightly until you feel better. If it's a yeast infection you can do whatever you like as long as the itch doesn't drive you insane!

Hiya there!

If this is a yeast problem I'd say it's safe to work out, so long as afterwards you remove the sweat and moisture from yourself.  A couple at home tricks you can try to help 1. mix 9 parts water to 1 part vinegar and wash with it.  You can also soak a tampon in solution and then insert it for about 20 minutes this will drop the acidity there.  Warning though that to  much vinegar to water and it could burn instead of help.  2. is yogurt can do a yogurt soaked tampon and do a "yogurt mask" on your outer self.  This helps calm and cool your skin and helps a bit with the yeast.

If this is a bladder infection, I think a trip to the dr would be more important than a walk on the treadmill.  Bladder infections can infect your kidneys and cause a system wide infection.  I've had that happen, when I get them they take over so quickly, it's like I blink then bam I've got a bladder infection and it goes right to my kidneys and I am sick sick sick.  I've looked at why I get them and for me it's a sexual thing, any time my hubby bangs against my cervix my bladder goes insane !

I wish you luck
