They are killing me! Does anyone have any advice to not eat them constantly andto  eat them over a longer period of time to have them last longer and to have you not gain more weight?

A) Get them out of the house.

B) Put portions of them into baggies as to not overindulge.

Enjoy them slowly too.

I'm sure there are other ideas, but that's all I've got.

lol read the nutrition facts on them!! I can completely relate, I LOVE the caramel delites (now called Samoas? I think). Anyway they have like 9 grams of SATURATED fat (or something like that...don't quote me on it). Of course, seeing the facts straight in front of my face does not usually stop me...but sometimes it helps.

Another thing I have found are those 100 calorie snack packs. I am IN LOVE with them! :) And just something random, I've noticed about myself is that the longer I've been healthier...the less I really crave sweets. If you can break yourself from eating too many sweets for 3 weeks (yes, I know it's a really long time!) and try to introduce healthy foods, you may develop a taste for healthier foods and lose those intense cravings. This is my opinion, not fact. It's just some of my own observations :)

Ok. Thanks guys so much.

I don't think I will ever be able to cut out Girl Scout cookies completely. I used to be a Girl Scout and have grown up loving them. Smile It's like a tradition for me. I guess I will have to tell myself to have will-power!

Pre-portion out the cookies in little baggies beforehand or only take one serving with you at a time and then put the box away.

Have something with the cookies to help make them more filling.

I feel like the only one who has never touched a girl scout cookie. Embarassed lol

I can't imagine that they taste much different from other cookies in a store. Am I missing something?

i have had 3 thin mints thus far. i am amazed at myself, i too used to be a girl scout!

anyways, i suggest you buy only ONE box. pick your favorite flavor, and know that you cant buy anymore. that way you'll savor each and every bite, and make them last as long as you can :)

Have a set cookie time when you aren't ravenous, like 7pm, and then eat your ration. Also, if you want to have like twenty cookies, remember that you're just tasting the same thing over and over again. How exciting.

Good luck!

Wow, you know, I have NEVER thought about it that way!  I'm totally going to use that mindset next time I want to plow through an entire bag of chips or cookies lol.

Thanks! :)

Not that it's a good comparison, but it just popped in there and therefore I must say it! LOL Tongue out Cookies can also be like sex. Sure, each one has the same flavor, but each cookie is just as delicious as the last, resulting in wanting more and more. LMAO

I kept mine in my desk at work. I offered them to coworkers until they were gone. I would only eat 2 at a time and ONLY if i made room in my count for them. Keeping them out of sight helps. i Can't let food sit out on my desk and not want to eat it. So if its put away i can forget about it if my hands and mind are kept busy. :)

Yes.

Send them to me!

I'm a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa and OMG what I wouldn't do for some Girl Scout Cookies!

So send them to:

Dove Russo - Corpo da Pas

Armazem - Porto Novo

Santo Antao, Cape Verde

West Africa

If you send them today, they should arrive in aproximately 3-4 weeks.  So hurry!

give them away. if they're not there you won't eat them. I gave mine to my FH to bring to work.

Don't buy them...while they are for a good cause and do taste good, they are way over priced.   If you buy them, you are sure to eat them...and I do know how hard it is to stop with just one.

I have had 3 thin mints too!! Boxes!!! (I am a leader  I have an unlimeted supply)

if you love different flavors instead of just having the same ones around, maybe you should split them with some friends. and you can also freeze them, not in the box because that's too tempting lol

but if you cut out the nutrition facts, but it in a plastic bag and put the cookies in too (and bury them deep under all those frozen veggies *nudge* :P )

then you will probably forget about them after a while, and they will only occur to you when you REALLY have a craving. then you can take out ONE serving and let it sit for a little. and then eat.

I got this huge box of belgian chocolates for my birthday, and since I love them too much to give them away I found a way to deal with them... I cut them in half, and then I put the box way in the back of the snack cabinet. about a 2 weeks after my birthday I started forgetting about them, and only when I REALLY craved chocolate I would remember that I had them! and then I would take a half, put them away and walk away, and THEN eat it with a nice big cup of water on hand. :)

Don't buy them.  If you feel sorry for the little girls make a cash donation.

If you do buy them, buy one box and take it to an event and share them.

Girl Scout cookies are akin to drugs...you can't just stop with a few...freezing them just makes them better.  Thin mints, somoas!

hmm... I guess mint does taste good frozen...

well if you live with someone could you ask them to hide it from you?

we hide all our snacks from my sister, and she just asks us for a serving of whatever when she wants it. she eats uncontrollably, so we can't leave any snacks, peanut butter, cereals, sweets, etc. out.

or, yes, just don't buy them I guess. or keep them in your work's kitchen, so they go down fast and you can only have a couple, while you're at work.

You know, you could work the calories into your meal plan for the day.  My husband got us a box of the Caramel Delites, and I believe that for two they total up to 150 calories.  I will eat two for a "desert", at dinner, when I feel that I am in need of something sweet.  Funny enough though, I have been having a small bowl of cereal that totals the same amount of calories, in place of the cookies, and I really don't crave them anymore.  That is saying a lot, coming from a chocoholic!   If I weigh how filling the cereal is, to the fulfillment of the two cookies, the cereal wins every time.

Good luck!

This is what I do and it works for me.  In my nightstand drawer I have hidden a goody...a bag of dove chocolates, a box of girl scout cookies etc.  Only one goody at a time is in my nightstand but I give myself permission to have one or two every now and again.  Maybe I have one every night, maybe I dont.  But since I give myself permission to have a goody I dont feel so deprived.  If you tell me I can't have it I will want 100 of them.  But if I have permission to have them I know I can have it anytime so I dont gorge myself on it.  Everything in moderation.  I take my hat off to those of you who can do without any goodies but I am certainly not one of those people.  If you are not one of those people, give yourself permission to have a little goody, but only if you have the remaining calories for them.  I am a firm believer of everything in moderation.

would die for some thin mints right now.......mmmmmmmm. enjoy a few for me my mom and bro ate all of them before i came home for spring break! haha  dont worry i will be sure to get my fill of thin mint ice cream at brusters1 one of my favs hahaha.
