Just wanted to share a small success with everyone.
Today I was shopping and spotted some Girl Scouts selling cookies, which are TO DIE FOR. So I bought a box of the peanut butter / chocolate Tagalongs. So good. I would've NEVER done that a few days ago. I don't think I'll actually eat many of them, though, since they're not the healthiest thing to gain with. But my family will like them. I've tortured my family so long with my refusal to eat specific foods, so I guess this is an "I'm sorry I had an ED. Thanks for helping me recover" present for them.
Would it be bad if I added a few cookies to my gain diet?
it would not be bad at all..it would be a step toward normalcy. there is nothing wrong with eating a few girl scout cookies and each and every day...unfortunately they're only around once a year so take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy them!! You shouldn't have to think twice about having a few cookies. Thin mints are my favorite. =)
Cookies should be included in ANY person's diet once in a while. They are fine as a part of your diet so long as you get a good balance of foods.
enjoy!
Personally I don't buy them because i think they are way too $$, and they just don't do it for me. Hubby loves them though.
Get yourself a box of thin mints and pop them in the freezer; wait a few hours. Your patience will be rewarded in kind. :)
I wonder if mint thins are anything like After Eight mints. Because I like the sound of freezing them. @w@
Nope LALA nothing like after 8 mints, after eights are like a flat york peppermint patty in my opinion, thin mints have a chocolate cookie coated in minty chocolate...so yummy!! you should get a box =)
oh no i dispise thin mints!!! samoas are the way to go people!!!
lol sorry i just had to state my love for samoas. they have chocolate and caramel and are very pretty to look at and im pretty sure are over a shortbread cookie..also topped with some coconut =]
dosi dos are number two((peanutbutter cookie)) and then the origional shortbread for number three haha you havnt lived till youve tried em =]
We don't have mint thins in the UK. x:
way to go! I've recently done some of those impulse purchases of fear foods like whole chocolate bars and it feels so good! If i could handle the dairy in the girl scout cookies I'd so buy them. All of my friends have stocked up since it's the season, seriously, most have gotten about 5 or 6 boxes at least and not even to share haha. They're a perfectly acceptable part of any diet, all my friends are healthy beautiful people who like good food, sometimes that means junky treats, sometimes that means good quality. Either way it doesn't affect them negatively at all.
The best gift you'll be able to give your family is to enjoy those cookies WITH them. Trust me, they'll be so happy to see you allowing yourself treats again!

Nooo! They are the... greatest... everrr. :) I'm kind of resisting the urge to answer the call of Cthulhu right now... err wait, I mean thin mint
omg lala, i cannot believe you guys don't have thin mints! they are these crispy mint cookies covered in mint chocolate! Not to mention you can have 5 of them for 160 calories or something like that! my mom always buys 10-14 boxes and stores them in our two pantries. then you put them in the freezer and they are soooo good that way! i would be more than happy to send you a box if you'd like :)
Hm. I wonder if there's anything similar to them in the UK. It sounds a little like a Viscount biscuit.
IA IA! MINT THIN FHTAGN!
Ok so I've read this entire thread and I've got to ask - is there ANY way I can get Girl Scout Cookies in Canada?? I'm salivating...
:D
I also got some recently. My favorite is samoas, but I could only make myself eat 1. And for anyone interested, they sell girlscout cookies on ebay:)
For all cookie lovers looking to gain i highly recommend Jenny's coconut macaroons. They are really good...just coconut, honey and eggwhites. I think they are about 310 calories per cookie....make a good snack and not too filling. Im not sure if you can get them in the UK though....but i envy you UK girls being able to get eccles cakes...my mom used to make those and i loved them!
If you're truly desperate, you can contact one of the girl scout councils and arrange to have them shipped directly to you...you'll have to send a check or cashier's check in advance, but typically they're happy to do it.
Cookie season is over right now, so you'll either have to get lucky and find a troop selling the last of their unplaced cookies or wait until next year.
