They come into the office all cute with their pigtails and brown vests saying "buy some cookies Please".  How can you resist.  But if I buy I will eat, I have no will power when it comes to Thin Mints.  Do you think it's ok to just give them the money and not take the cookies?  How do you tell them no?

Thanks for letting me vent.

can you buy the cookies then leave them somewhere in the office for everyone else to eat???
I didn't tell them no, I had 4 thin mints, and it's OK, it was in

my daily calorie budget!  Then, let my peers finish the rest ;o)

4 Thin Mints are worth the 140 calories IMO!!!
I think it's fine to pay and not take any - it will confuse the heck out of them!!  LOL When my daughter was in Sparks (that is before Brownies here in Canada) she would go up to people and ask if they would buy cookies...the first time someone said no she burst into tears and said "But you have to buy these cookies - they said I can't go home until they're all gone!!!"  It worked like a charm and she caught on and sold the most cookies that day!!  LOL

If they make you take them - just give them away immediatley!!  Good luck!!
I concur with your "girlscouts are evil" statement.

I indulged in a samoa today. 75 cals :o
Having sold girl scout cookies from the first grade all the way until I was a senior in high school (in 1999), you can definitely give them money and not accept the cookies.  Many GS troops have started participating in programs where they can buy boxes to send to our armed forces who are stationed overseas.  Plus, the money they raise from cookie sales will help send them to camp or help with other projects they are working on - a VERY worthwhile cause.
buy the cookies and send them to me!!!!!!!!!!!

lol

you could always take them to work or give them to a church or a food bank.

you dont have to eat em.

freeze them! have a Samoa a day! my fav!!!
I know! They've been taunting me with their boxes of delicious somoas (they were called Caramel Delights when I was in GS!).

I've resisted! Bwahaha. Thought I might cave and buy one box and stash it in my freezer. :D One a day can't hurt!
Well, I just walk right on by and say "No, thank you." That's how you tell them "no." :P I think it's a good lesson for them actually -- gotta learn that everybody isn't going to say yes. ;) I'm SURE you could make a donation and not take the cookies! WHO would say "no" to money? Also, you could buy the cookies and donate them to a nursing home or something. :)
I need to stop going to the supermarket so frequently because everytime they get me too!!  Those caramel ones are the best!  My friend and I ate a full box in one night last week.  Stupid girl guides!!!

Did you see that Eby's now makes the girl scout cookies into ice cream?  The thin mint ice cream is sooo good.  Cookie wise the carmel delites are my favorite.  I keep saying to myself, hang on...they only sell them for a limited time.
I saw that  - the samoa one calls me everytime I'm in the grocery store.  So I guess that make Edy's evil also.  :)
I leave them at the neighbors, they have 3 little girls, who I bought them from, anyway if i open a box there, they are pretty much gone.
I have a box of Thin Mints in my freezer.  Two cookies are only 70 cals, and it's a great snack with some skim milk. Yumm.  Thanks, now they're calling my name too!!  =)
samoas are evil not the girl scouts that sell them. i think i at 5 one day... they were just so goood... but yet so bad.
have an alternetive i found these 100 cal pack made by i think right bites keebler, there called grasshoppers taste just like thin mints an 100cal a pack
The Girl Scouts mean a lot to me, but I don't like the cookies.  So I send a nice check each year to our local council.
Ahhh the girl scouts. I remember those days. Little cheaters. Instead of them coming to my door now (maybe get a little exercise) I get an email. Little cheaters. When I was in girl scouts, you braved the sub-zero temps in the snow of Minnesota (not really) in January walking door-to-door. I'm glad I don't like their cookies. SOOOOOO glad.
see if the troop that is selling is doing the send a box to the troops thing. i know my little sis is, so its a win-win-win :D you don't eat the cookies, the scouts get the $$ and the troops get cookies!
My little sister sent me 6 boxes of cookies! Little Devil, ;0). I've just been taking them to work and letting my coworkers enjoy them.

I thought about taking them to a shelter as a donation too.
