My girlfriend's 56lb loss in 6 months!
Just thought I'd let you know my girlfriends achievements at shedding a lot of weight.
My girlfriend is 6ft tall, 21 years old. She used to be a national level swimmer in her teens so she has toned defined thighs without any cellulite and toned calves even at her heaviest of 280lbs. She never looked that heavy because of her height.
She decided enough was enough and wanted to lose weight. Her main drive is so that she can have a baby bump when she's pregnant. (Our kids will be huge, I'm 6'3" and 270lbs)
Anyways, she decided to cut out all the junk food, chocs, crisps, late night take aways and wanted to join the gym. I'm an amateur boxer and decided to sacrifice my boxing so I can support her and go to the same gym. She hates exercise but started off by doing 10mins cycling followed by a 10min walk and finishing off on the rower.
She's now 56lbs lighter and can run for 1 mile non stop in 15mins at 224lbs, I'm very proud of her. She's even beginning to enjoy the gym now and is thinking about getting on the weights.
She was worried that she'd struggle to lose weight as she has PCOS, but this hasn't proved to be a problem. She hasn't used any weight loss pills. The only supplements she takes is a low carb protein meal replacement shake while she's at work and a standard multivitamin.
The main thing about all of this is that she lost the weight because she really wanted to. She had a new found determination to suceed! And she did it without any pills, slimming clubs, personal trainers or nutritionists!
I'm a proud man!
awwwww, how sweet!
Hope you show her this post, and are letting her know how proud you are. What a good man!
That is wonderful. Congratulations to her, and I believe having you as a supporter helped her to accomplish her goals. Yours is such a lovely story. Thanks for sharing that with us.
That's awesome! Congratulations to her and a big thumbs up to you for being a wonderful support!!
I've grown up with seeing the frustrations at fad diets, I come from a family where the women are large. I've seen my mum go from diet to diet over the years. Weightwatchers, Slimming World, Blood Type Diets, Slim Fast, Atkins, Diet Pills and back to Weightwatchers, plus all the workout videos too.
She's now got serious about eating healthy rather than following a "diet" and is doing lots of walking; she's lost 30lbs of late, again with the same determination as my girlfriend. My mum's new found determination was due to being diagnosed with arthiritis in her knee and knew it was weight induced.
Congrats to your girl! And congrats to you for being such a great support system. It took me a long time to realize that fad diets and quick fixes were nothing but good reasons to gain the weight back, because they were always something I could go off after I was "done". It is never "done" it has to be a life change, and it is fantastic to learn that when you are young enough to appreciate it. Good luck to you both!!
Thanks for sharing. It is an inspiration.
Right on! Great work she's doing/done :)
That is so sweet. You even gave up boxing. Awwww.
This is awesome! You both can be very proud.
