I usually skip a meal or something if I crave chocolate because the temptation's just too high. :P

ive found eating every 12 hours helps
cause you know you dont eat when you sleep
and you always wake up feeling thinner in the stomach :)
or 6 hours is good to start with if you cant do 12 :)
Dude... come on ... that's exagerating. You can't just have one meal a day. That ruins your metabolism. And plus not eating will help you lose weight but your body will just be very weak and powerless, you'd be like a drug addict. Try walking every day and remember to eat at least 1400 calories every day. I've lost 3 kilos in one week and a half by just eating around 1400-1500 and walking a lot.
Don't starve yourself.

-im very athletic, but also really bad at eating 'small' meals, or even skipping one every once and a while. :(
People people people! How many times are you going to force us to say this: DO. NOT. SKIP. MEALS.
It screws up your metabolism and is too hard to keep up for it to be effective in the long run.
If you have trouble eating small meals, just take a large one, deconstruct it, and eat it over the course of an hour. I used to do this with pizza all the time; I'd eat some multi grain bread, then some tomato and low fat mozzarella, then a salad with some lean meat.

i do walk alot a heal of alot. i walk to school, round my school, home from school. 40 min walk to the train station at night. and the 40 min walk back home later

Are you INSANE?! That is not enough for a teen! That is being anorexic. You will cause long term damage to your internal organs, including your reproductive system. Haven't you read ANY of the advice tools or forums?

From your posts, I gather that you are 15yo, 5'6", and weigh 142.
You need the following calories to maintain your current weight:
1910 Calories - Inactive (Never Active)
2260 Calories - Low Activity (Less than 1 Hour a day)
2590 Calories - Moderate (About 1 Hour a day)
3150 Calories - Very Active (More than 1 Hour a day)
Since you do walk a lot, your active level is moderate to very active.
The minimum calories a teenager who is trying to lose weight should consume is 1500 (female)/1800 (male). This applies to teenagers who are completely sedentary, which you are not.
You should consume at least 1800-2000 calories a day.
Depriving your body of the food and nutrients is not the way to go. Please check out the following links:

I'm 15 (I'll be 16 this month) and I used to weigh in the 150s.
In March, I decided to lose weight and get into shape.
I'm now 110. :D
Except earlier today I was 107 but I dunno maybe my scale was broken or something.
I can answer any questions.

Well.
I used to do a lot of sitting around; I'd never get out and do anything, ever. And this really killed my self esteem.
But then I started riding my bike every day (but I'd let myself skip exercising for two days of every week) and I stopped letting myself eat after 7pm, and I was SUPER strict about it. Like - not even diet pop or gum. I think that being strict there is important because if you cheat a little, you'll cheat a lot and this I know from experience. But I'd also let myself eat past 7 two nights a week, as well.
After a while, I started to naturally WANT to work out every day, and it's extremely rare that I eat after 7 or don't exerceise. But I have to say this about the no-eating-past-7 rule: it's basically to prevent late night snacking. I eat dinner every night at 6, but let's say I'm out shopping with mom and we don't find the time to grab a bite till 7:30. Now, of course I eat a MEAL, because not doing so would be unhealthy and would put me at risk of starvation mode. But when you can control it, eat before 7 because our metabolisms generally come to a screeching halt around that time, anyway.
So then about after 3 months I lost 20 pounds. Over the summer (3 more months) I lost 25 more pounds; and I do not plan on losing anymore weight because that would look weird.
But now I go on walks every night with my dog for an hour and do Pilates for 25 minutes. I just have an exercise DVD.
I get about 300 calories for breakfast, about 400 calories for lunch and about 500 calories for dinner.
I also write down EVERYTHING that I eat.
Well...not gum and stuff...but meals. And I don't snack between meals. I noticed that I prefer 3 big meals as opposed to 6 small ones.
But that's pretty much what I did. If you can any more ?s, just ask.
If you're around 15 years old, you need 1500 calories, not 1200. I'm hoping that your estimates and minor snacks make up the difference.
hey i havent been keeping up with this very well
im now 16 and weighing 134lbs
i was 131, but then i came on my period, and well you know what thats like ahaha
im hoping to get back on track next week :)
