Girls 5ft 3inchs and under ? what is your calorie intake?
o How tall are you?
o What is your calorie intake?
o Do you increase your calorie intake if you exercise?
Rina
I'm almost 5'3, I eat 1100-1300 a day usually. I pretty much just eat the same if I'm exercising, unless I get hungry.
I'm about 5'3'' and I eat 1000-1300 calories per day,but I try to stay above 1200 and zig-zag.When I exercise,I up my calorie intake by like 100-200.I try to exercise every other day,but I started just last week and been feeling sooo sore .:p
I'm 5'1'' and I eat 1800-2100 calories a day!!
=]
I'm 22, 5'3, 130lbs.
Eat an average of 1600-1700 cals/day.
Trying out a cycle of 1466 cals/3 days, 2095 cals/1 day...
I am currently a little injured, but make it to the gym for yoga 3-4x/week and for upper body lifting 2x a week..
Usually I'm at the gym 6 days a week for a minimum of 1 hour, max of 3 hours.
I do eat more the harder I work out.
I'm also 5' 3'', and I try to stay somewhere btw 1100 - 1200 calories most days. I do 15 min of HIIT every day, and alternate a little strength training or mat exercises in the evenings.
Once a week i have a cheat day of 1500-1600.
I'm 42 with sedentary job so i've been losing about 3lb a month like this.
(130lb now)
So my intake as of right now is 1350-1500 calories. 1200 if I'm being all sedentary during the day.
And, you didn't ask, but just as an aside, I often save 200 of those calories for Edy's slow churned ice cream at night. So, even though I'm a shrimp, I've gone from 143 to 117 (26 pounds) in 4.5 months, eating ice cream all the way!
And I did have a bit of a plateau about 6 weeks ago, but blew through it by sticking with the program. I'd like to lose another 10 - 13 pounds, but have no idea how I'll maintain, as the calorie line between weight loss and weight gain seems pretty narrow for me.
Hi ohallyjo,
I see that you are fairly new so welcome to CC.
I am happy to hear that you are currently in the recovery process and we are here to help you through it.
But did you know that while 400-800 calories may be an increase in what you were previously taking in that is not enough for your organs to function properly. Your body needs at least 1200 calories per day and even more on your active days. Are you currently under the supervision of a doctor? If not, then the best advice I can give is to consult one so that they can help you through the recovery process.
Here are a couple of good links on recovery strategy:

I just saw this post.
I'm not going to tell you to stop losing weight. 5 feet and 95 lbs. is an acceptable weight, however, I will strongly suggest that you confirm with your doctor before eating so few calories. MOST women need at LEAST 1200 calories a day to make sure your body is working at peak efficiency. More if you're heavier. If you eat less than that, than over time your metabolism slows down to match it.
I highly suggest you talk to a doctor or nutritionist and get a professional take. I do recognize you're both short and thin, but 800-1000 calories does not really sound, to my unprofessional ears, like enough.
I'm 5' 0.5" and I eat anywhere between 900-1200. Sometimes higher when I drink wine or other drinks. It has been 4 months now and my blood test results are all normal. I lose steadily since 7 months. I started at 153.5 and now at 122.4. I plan to reach 120 and decide if I want to continue losing weight or begin to maintain. We'll see.
I feel great, never been sick in 4 years. I eat whole-wheat, whole-grain, chicken, turkey, fish, lots of vegetables (8-10 servings a day) and some fruits. I also sometimes replace meat with tofu and beans. I eat as unprocessed as possible. I have no appetite for bad food at all and I'm happy about it! When I go to a restaurent, which is very rare, it's either Subway no cheese no dressings or if it's another restaurant I usually get a chicken salad.
I don't excercise a lot but I'm active around the house. I have good genetics on that, always had a hearth rate of 50-65 when I rest.
I get 1300-1600 daily with spikes up to 2300 every so often when I'm having a bit too much fun :)
I don't exercise :)
