any girls out there 5'5''??
i'm not one of those crazy eating-disorder girls ... i've been here forever and dont normally post on the forums - this is just out of total curiosity :)
Hi! Yeah I feel the same. I'm 21, 5'5 and weigh 130-134lb. Most people tell me that I look fine at my weight. But they don't take into account that I have a very small frame (I was blessed with a fast metabolism). I get soooo upset whenever they are like you are fine...because I am not fine...I have never weighed this much and I'm so unhealthy...I developed acne, and I can't even run anymore. As a senior in high school I was 5'5 and weighed between 100-104 (I was really toned/fit bc I would play sports 24/7). I felt really happy with myself and I was so healthy. Then I came to college and stopped exercising and sat around all day eating unhealthy dining hall food (pizza, hotdogs..etc) even though I never ate that food before...bc my mom was really into healthy eating (she used to be a model)..we never ate at restaurants and ate lots of veggies and fruits..I guess it was instilled in us. I thought the food at the university was gross but I had to eat it bc that was all the food they had. In short, I gained the freshman 15, sophomore 10 and now junior 5 (even though I am maintaining my weight now..but I still have to eat on campus...thank god this school has better food). I really want to get fit again and lose the extra fat (hopefully before May/Summer). The problem is that my metabolism is dead and losing weight is really hard bc I can't break the 130 mark. I am having a hard time counting calories. Also, I binge eat a lot (esp. cookies, breads, cereal). I live off of carbs.

Wow, we are pretty similar..first off my name is Nicole too, I am 5'5'' today I am 132, but in December I was down to 123 and would love to get back there. I also live off of carbs, I can eat cookies, bread, and cereal all day long. (cereal is my most common snack) I am working out pretty steady, but I cannot wait for spring, so I can get outside and run! The cold and snow are driving me crazy.
I say I'm 5'6" but that's only on a good day. The rest of the time I'm 5'5.5" and I'm maintaining at about 135.
I'd say if you are not happy with your body at this weight (which is a completely healthy weight), you need to hit the iron.
I'm 5'5'' and 140... my goal weight is about 135 or so. I'd say that you're certainly not a beached whale! Of course, it depends on where from you're looking at it--for example, I used to be 180 lbs, so 135 to me seems perfectly reasonable. If you're usually in the 120's or somesuch and have gained to get to where you are, it might seem larger. But it's perfectly healthy!
i'm 5'5, 21 years old, and 132 pounds. I feel gross at this weight. Last summer I was maintaining at 128 pounds and felt great, but I gained 4-5 pounds over Christmas and none of my pants are fitting right and my stomach looks HUGE! I didn't think that a 5 pound gain would show so much :( And of course I can't get to the gym right now because I am really really sick so I just feel hopeless right now.
I'm 5'5", currently 150 pounds, aiming for 130-135 ish
I think that's pretty much the ideal weight range for my height!
