I'm 5'7" and 158 lbs.  I'm medium boned, and most people say I look average weight and don't need to lose anything (BMI is 24), but I'd like to get down to 135 lbs.  When I was at University and extremely active, being a phys.ed. major, I was 125 lbs.  I'm 46 yrs. old now, so I feel that at 135 lbs. I'm going to look quite slim.  Besides, I don't think my body could go any lower any more.  I need to consume 2000 cal./day in order to feel well enough, and energetic enough, to participate in a very busy career and a busy household of 5.  I think taking 8 weeks to take off 22 lbs. is a reasonable goal.  At 5'7" and 107 pounds, I can imagine you are very thin.  Is this your goal weight?
I'm 5'7 and i started at 150 lbs and now weight 137.

I would like to get down to 125 hopefully, since i have a medium frame!

I'm also trying to get down to 125 at the moment, but I'm focusing more on body fat percentage (I want to be between 14 and 18) since I'd love to gain weight if it's muscle! Oh yea, and I'm fairly small framed. I think. With the wrist/finger thing I'm small framed, and with the wrist measurement thing I am also...but I have quite broad shoulders. Who knows.

I get an average of about 2000 a day. I got a zig-zag diet from freedieting.com, I'm trying it out. And that's with weight training 6 days a week, intense interval cardio 2-3 days a week, and power yoga 3-4 times a week.

Hi!  I'm 5'7" and currently weight 160 (how depressing!!!)  I would like to get back down to 145.  I haven?t had time to exercise these days....... any advice on how to get there???
I'm around 130 I think? I don't weigh myself because I do weight training and what's in the mirror is more important to me. According to the wrist test I'm a small frame. I'd like to lose a little layer of fat over my lower abs and some flab off my arms.
5'7.75" (Hopefully will hit 5'8" before I'm totally done growing) and 125 pounds. I want to get down to 115, then maybe a little more. I started at 131.
missscooter I would highly suggest not going that low, it's underweight and really unhealthy...

i'm 5'8" but i'm going to participate anyways because I was 5'7" for years until I recently randomly grew an inch in college! (my doctor was very surprised, especially because when i was little they said my adult height would be 4'11"!). I have a small frame, I weigh 120, up from 110 (when I couldn't STAND the cafeteria food any longer!) and i'm basically just looking to maintain. I've never been above 128 before, even when I ate mostly fried food, cheese, peanut butter and salt and vinegar chips (and a lot of food at that!), worked in a bakery, and did absolutely NO excercise. But I felt GROSS (constantly gassy haha) so I just changed my eating habits

I am, like a lot of you, also trying to get down to 125.  According to the wrist/finger test I'm small framed. 

I have been trying to consume between 1300 and 1500 calories a day.  I workout everyday...just not for too long (because I don't have enough time)...I will do cardio for 30-45 minutes 5 days/week and lift 2 days/week.  On the days that I lift I will do 10-20 minutes cardio before and after to warm up and cool down my muscles so that  I am not as sore the next morning!  I would like to do more cardio but just don't have the time right now!

Robyneg- it sounds like we are built about the same...I am also small framed with broad shoulders...and we are close to the same weight!  What is a zig-zag diet?

I'm 5'7 but closer to 5'8.  I weigh 174 now, which is down from 182 - my heaviest weight.  this is my first time being overweight.  I was never underweight either but was always on the small side.  My weight gain was an accumulation of my last two pregnancies, and compounded by erratic eating, neglect, and lack of excercise.  I've been saying 'i'll lose it all'  last year, and the year before and then I was at 170! This summer I gained 12 ******** pounds by mid July.  Why - well in part it was because Breyers ice cream went on sale and I sat in bed eating half containers over my food daily.  Also, not eating all day then binge eating at night.  Either way when I went to 182 it was like......WHAT!! I was 190 right before I gave birth!!! That was the last straw to what I hope will be a lifestyle change not just a weight change.

I wear a size 13, but could wear a 12, and do have to in some clothes.  I like my clothes on the fitting well with no bulges side. 

I hope to go down to 150.  My weight goal is supposed to be 143 but that weight is too thin for me and draws me out.  At 150 I am a 9/10 which I know is not fashionable now but I like it. 

someone mentioned breasts I believe.  My bust is on the smaller side B cup now, but when I lose I will lose some.  I'm too old though 38, with 3 kids, to worry about the small breast thing.  I did that, bought the t-shirt when I was a teen. 

Yes, aging does give you a reprieve of some things.

Hey!  I am 5'7, and small framed according to the wrist test thing.  (Although I don't know how accurate that is.  My upper body is very small framed yet my lower body seems more medium to my eyes.  Dunno!)  Anyway, I weighed 131.5 as of yesterday.  I started at 153, and my goal is 125 - 128 pounds depending on how I feel, and how I look, once I hit that target.
Hi, I've been CC for right at a year now.  I'm 5'7 and 130, meduim framed with broad shoulders (from swimming many years ago).  I started at 142.  I too, would like to be 125 but I am stuck.  I work out but not regulary, 2-3x at the gym and a pilates class.  I usually eat about 1400 calories a day...but do still enjoy a glass of wine and ice cream 2-3x a week.  Which is probably why I'm stuck at 130 :-)

lschumacher, a zig-zag diet is where you zig-zag your calories, so you alternate higher calorie days and lower calorie days. I'm not very good at it 'cause I'm not living on my own, so I haven't really gotten any results yet, but once I go back to school hopefully I'll be better at it. It's supposed to not only break plateaus, but also build muscle at the same time that you're losing fat, which is what I want to do, it just takes a bit longer to lose the fat. If you were doing it for that reason though, I'd up the weight training if possible.

Robyneg, the zig-zag diet sounds interesting...I've never heard of it.  Right now I'm just trying to keep my calories somewhat consistent and under 1400 if possible!  We should be buddies...its hard to find people who have similar body types and actually know the advantages and disadvantages, Lol!

 I have a question...if anyone is able to answer...I am wondering what the difference is between the estimated calories burned and the actual.  Does the estimate come from what you enter into your profile and how many calories you should have burned by the end of the day?  Where as the total would be what you entered in addition to what...how many calories you have burned up to that particular point in the day???  Because technically both numbers are 'estimates' so what makes one more accurate than the other???

I am 5'7" and 160lbs.  According to the wrist test I am small framed but would never believe that since I haven't been a very small girl since like elementry.  My highest weight was 190.  I am down quite a bit.  I would like to get down to 145-150.  I was 150 at one point and was the best weight I had ever been.  I felt great and looked great.  I have hit a platue at this point and I can't get past it that point.  I've been the same weight for over a month.  I just don't get it.  I hope you girls get what you need from this.  I know I have gotten a lot from everyone here.  Thanks
I am 5'7" and about 170.  I've lost about 10 lbs over the summer from my highest weight ever.. ugh.  My goal is 160, then ultimately 150.  All throughout high school I weighed 160 and would like to be just a bit under that.  I think any lower than 150 would be pretty tough since I work out a lot and have a lot of muscle.  How many calories a day are you girls that are about my size shooting for?  I am going for about 1600 which is pretty much my BMR then I figure I burn 500+ throughout the day, for a weight loss of 1 lb per week.
Hello. I'm 5'7" and about 189 pounds, down from my highest at 240. I'd like to eventually get down to around 155-160. I'd be quite happy to keep my curves and I'm a large frame so I don't think I'd go much lower than that.
