Girls Night Out, bad midnight snack...
I've been doing awesome and really getting back on track with my healthy lifestyle. I don't find it hard to make healthy choices, my real problem is portion control.
Yesterday I ate only 888 calories, because I was invited for a girls night out. Which added on top of those calories, 8 oz of wine, one vodka and grapefruit cocktail and a regular beer.
I know it sounds like a lot, and it is, I barely ever drink, though this was over a 4-5 hour period, anyhow, I was still under my caloric intake, but I found myself starving and I had to eat. Too buzzed to prepare my own food, I took to the Del Taco drive thru (no, I wasn't driving). Anyhow, one chicken soft taco and a bean burrito later and I'm riddled in guilt.
So, I have 3 questions after my long story.
What do you do when you feel like you have to eat after drinking, and your only options are fast food? What cheap fast foods do you love that are really filling and low in calories (around 300 or lower)?
Last question in this novel of a topic:
It was at 12:30AM that I consumed these 490 calories. It's counting towards my calories today, not last night. Is that right? Because if so I am going to be awfully hungry not eating those 491 calories today.
...and to be honest, iv been doing terrible anyways lately so i feel as though 'hey, might as well keep on going!'.
man...i need to get on the ball (and drink less!)
Okay I was told when I went on weight watchers, if you're going on a night out, and the clock rolls after 12:00, you should still be on the previous days listing. because what's to stop you from just eating calories that count to the next days after 12, but when the next day rolls around it's a whole new day ... It might just be confusing but I was also told, do whichever you choose, whichever feels most comfortable, but always make it consistent.
My personal favorite is hot dogs, they are not so bad, and at least here, there's a hot dog stand outside every bar nearly, and they taste FREAKING AWESOME when you're drunk. What you have to do, if it's before bar closing times, figure out WHERE is open, what are your options if you can't go home ... maybe somewhere does salt and pepper chicken wings ... or maybe somewhere does a chicken ceaser, you might have to move bars but some close their kitchen early (as I learned last night) for me, last night, the only option was hot dog, but I didn't have one because it was out of the way XD I just snacked out when I got home,

This is my biggest diet obstacle now: binge drinking and then binge eating on the weekends. It all feels so good at the time! I have discovered if I make it a rule to always have a soda and lime on the rocks between alcoholic beverages, it slows me down, I still feel like I am drinking, it tasts like vodka kinda and my blood sugar doesn't plunge around midnight thus keeping me from the Del Taco drive thrus. And if you are going to eat, stick to lo-carb food: mostly protien and veggie (Carl's Jr's chicken sandwich lettuce wraps are fresh and delicious but I am not sure of their hours). but it's all about baby steps...take your time, do it little by little and you'll will have a new healthier party habit before you know it! Girls night out eh? Haha, you'll be ok, just hit the gym a little harder tomorrow. At least you didn't come home with a baby or something... I know a few girls whose midnight snack was far worse than a couple martinis.
