Okay so I'm not one who would normally do this (honestly I don't), but one night I just so happened to be up and was flipping through the channels when I ran across a show with people... uh let's call it "making babies". I couldn't help but notice that the women were very thin (I mean very very thin) with their ribs popping out. It was both frightening and painful to watch. So I told one of my friends about this and he happens to be a regular viewer of these types of shows and agreed that girls these days are getting thinner and thinner in porns. Now I don't know about most people, but I don't say, "Look at the sexy ribcage on that girl". I mean honestly, let's keep those bodies out of a category where it's good for a girl to have something on her. Now obviously there are women who are naturally thin and there are guys who are attracted to extremely thin women, but first fashion models and now this?!

I've seen scrawny girls in porn for quite some time.  Seriously, there's aporn for every type of fetish or interest you can imagine, fat grannies, skinny grampies, fat midgets, skinny giants, multiracial and multisexes.

It's nothing new.  It's just something you saw for the first time.  And your friend, the regular viewer, ain't that regular if he's thinking they're only now getting skinnier and skinnier.

i don't know about porn, but i do notice that some bikini, underwear , lingerie catalogue models are showing ribs these days and i don't remember them seeing that years ago. 
(which btw i think is false advertising because it's freaking hard to find sexy lingerie xs...)

i don't know about some women, but i'm guessing it might have to do with the whole "flat stomach" obsession.  it's really hard for some gals to get low enough body fat to have flat tummies/hard abs without showing ribs...

 Ha ha. Okay that is true, but don't you think that the "tasteful porn" (the one that is allowed to be shown on HBO) shows women who are thinner than average?

Porn (from what i understand) has actually taken a huge turn in recent generations. With the access to cheap recording devices and the ease of sharing... more and more home-made porn is being put out there. This type of porn is less about contrived stories and productions and simply showcase more "normal" women. Generally the women are more fit, but there are also tons and tons of women shown that fall outside of that.

But yea...as cellulite says... porn comes in EVERY form you can imagine. The more obscure the fetish...the less likely you will see it on a channel like HBO (as there are simply less interested in it, so something like HBO wouldnt bother putting it on...porn is about money).

I think on the internet, super skinny doesnt get an unhealthy amount of attention.

i think the soft porn on cable is cast of women who actually wanted to be actresses, or at least highly paid strippers, so they probably figured they had to be that thin to get work in hollywood. ex: on one of the hbo porns a few years ago i saw this girl who was, at that time, an actress on passions, a soap opera that used to be on nbc.

Aside from a few sub-genres, the majority of porn is based on male fantasies such as "your hot teacher" or "your friends sister," etc.  What makes porn appealing/addicting to guys is NOT that the girls are attractive, but the acts that are taking place.  Of course, most guys would prefer to see an attractive 18-year old than a 70-year old granny, but whatever.  What is actually happening in most porn is satisfying our urges to be in power and dominant sexually.  How many times do you think a real-life guy puts a strangle-hold on his wife while they're being intimate... yeah, rarely.  With thinner girls, it satisfies our urges to be able to overpower a woman and pick her up and throw her all around (sexually speaking, not assault-and-battery lol).  I am attracted to thin girls (healthy ones) and there is something really sexy in my opinion about picking a girl up and knowing the two of you can achieve any position you can think of.

Have to just say personally there is also nothing attractive about skinny men either....thought I'd just chuck that in seen as it always seems to be about skinny women.

I keep checking this thread to see if someone said "what do you mean, most porn stars are overly thin? My ribs aren't sticking out!"

Haha... I took the granny thing from CD's post prior to mine.

I've never got the fascination with the porn lark.......last time I watched I had to go get myself a cheeky bowl of microwave butter popcorn, and a juice about 5mins after it started,  all I could think was "man someone should have supplied some KY-jelly" the BF enjoyed it....I'd have turned it over if he hadn't sat on the remote. Playboy has actually been trying to go for a more natural look recently.  Check out the 2007 Playmate of the Year for example.  They're trying to rid themselves of the "fake boobs" image they've obtained.
