Ally, cut yourself some slack, just try picking up an old good habit you had going, just here or there so you don't unravel anything you've worked so hard to do!! And you of all people can definately do it!! You're the groups head cheerleader you've totally been whipping us all into shape for so long with your motivational words!! And I'm keeping my fingers crossed till the end of day 3 for you...I know its murder, a bunch of family members of mine used to smoke, a lots!

Watchme, Whine away, we all need those days, at least I know I definately do.....I totally get you!! I was just thinking today how I've lost about 75, give or take some I'll see tomorrow and how 60 of those I lost in 7 months and the last 5 months I've been busy with 15 lbs!! So sista I totally get you, I was pissed for 2 weeks in a row cos on my weigh in days I gained 2 lbs each week!! I feel good about tomorrow, (but then again I felt good the last 2 fridays too before I stepped on the scale) but I'm keeping my fingers crossed, also cos I know that eventhough the numbers are freaking crawling the exercise is really helping on my body and its still a sore sight, but improving daily....I think you'll be happy with the trainer, but work with him/her on your problem areas and get the most out of your sessions...I told my trainer just today that as long as I'm in pain for at least 2 days after seeing him I feel good about it!! He's really happy with me, he says that so many people come to him and point to their butt or whatever other part and say "get rid of this" they forget that they also have to do the work, he's really happy when he sees me there the rest of the week, always comes over to say hi and how happy he is, and I guess that just keeps me going too!! My very own hunky cheerleader ;)

watchme, i wish i had something to offer but i don't. i can only imagine how thoroughly pissed and headache-inducingly frustrated you must be with your weight staying so stagnant, especially considering how hard you're working on this. whine, scream, beat up a couple pillows, smack a skinny chick (jk!). do what you gotta do to get through this crappy period.

mladdy, way to go with the sizes 10-12. Last week I bought my first size 14 jeans in yers. Of course I know sizes varies from store to store (I shopped at Macy's) but still it felt great.
BTW, all my clothes I have for my study trip are loose. My boobs are smaller so all my cute tube tops are hanging off. I tried using one today and it was a nightmare.
does everyone else have experience the shrinking boobs syndrome?
ally, way to go with the no more smoking resolution. I quitted more than a year ago and I'm feeling great plus my clothes smell way better.

Thank you to everyone who has commented on my shining achievement. I am not done, girls, but I do not intend to go any lower than a size 8. I'm pretty sure my body is just going to get firmer and more lifted. Probably not going to see too much more shrinking, but who knows. My waist has most definitely been smaller than it is at this point, but my hips have always been quite chunky and muscular. I like them though. Just need to lose the dimples now. ![]()
I ordered online from American Eagle last week, and my clothes have FINALLY arrived today! Yipee! It's too late to start trying them out right now, but I'll try to snap a pic or 2 tomorrow and post them for anyone who's on my friends list (I'm really weirded out by having my picture out there for the whole world-wide-web to see. Add me as a friend if you're curious.). I got mostly tops, one dress (which I'll probably return... too dressy for your everyday), and a couple pairs of underwear (not going to model these
).
I'm taking an every-other day approach to my exercise, it seems, though not on purpose. My legs are quite sore from jogging (in place on the Wii), something I'm not used to doing at all. It's way different from your regular treadmill jogging. I rolled my eyes at running in place as a form of exercise, but try 10 minutes of it with your heart pumping, and then try to tell me it's not a good exercise! I also enjoy the yoga still, and the step aerobics is pretty fun. I'm almost to the point where I max out on points on the step aerobics though.
Anyway, it's off to bed for me. I used my time in between jobs to go to the movies instead of take a nap. The Dark Night was most definitely worth skipping the nap for! I want to see it again before it leaves the theatres. Good night, all.

So I think that I am doing alright. I have been walking a lot but as for a vigorous workout, I haven't done it. Im so tired since I work so mucn long hours. I will try doing my Tae Bo again starting next week. I have so much to do this weekend cleaning wise. I can't wait to go out and have some much needed fun with friends. Anyhoo, BOOTS I miss you girl! Congrats on the job interviews! Maybe we may meet up. I am supposed to go visit in December. My bestie wants me to move there. We shall see...

i needed to tell you guys this. the guy sitting across from me was just reading the paper, aloud (annoying, right?), and mentions how some skinny guy is going up against this big dude in a boxing match. so the guy sitting next to him goes, how big is the big guy? the big guy is 6'9", 260 lbs. and all i thought was, i wish i was 260 lbs.
then i remembered, i'm less than 260 lbs, way less! the "i wish" thing was something i always did when hearing male athletes' stats, b/c i always, invariably, weighed more than the biggest lineman on any football team, or any heavyweight champ. not anymore! woohoo!
you guys, i've turned into such a chicken! remember i told you that FG and i are supposed to do go karting this weekend? well, guy friend from salsa class is having a barbeque that same day, at the same time. so i figured, i'd much rather go to the bbq w/ FG instead of have a one on one w him b/c there'll be other people to talk to, that i know, and i can get away from him if he starts to annoy me. plus i found out BFF will be at the bbq, too, which makes me feel way better.
i asked FG which one he wanted to do, and he quickly said bbq, too. are adults turning back into middleschoolers? b/c i seem to prefer group dates over couple dates in a big way. what a/b you non-married chicks? couple dating or group dating?
I use to group date all the time the first one on one date I had was when I was 19 2 months before i became 20 ( and that first date guy is who i will be marrying in Jan. Woo lol ) I just felt more comfortable with a group even when i couldn't do a group i would do double dates or just take a car load of friends with me lol I was always nervous but with Erick witch is the first date guy we had already hung out with friends months before on several occasions but i was still nervous that first date
I understand what you mean lol but maybe you will start feeling comfortable with him and date with out a group hope every thing works out

I don't think I've ever talked about my actual numbers on this forum before? But it's in my profile so if anyone ever took a peek, you'd know. ANYway. I was at 217 in January and somehow I find myself now hovering between 206-209. I've been counting calories since June but I think I've been switching things up too much for my body to get with the program because I've definitely been looking at the same numbers on the scale for WEEKS. I've decided that for the next week I'm not going to change anything, keep the same amount of exercise and calories (1400-1500 per day) and hope that next Friday things are a little more sunny. I feel better overall beacuse of the changes, but, like I said, I think I haven't seen tons of progress because I'm impatient!
mladdy, how do you like the Wii exercise? I wish I had one beceause I know I'd be so into the "game" aspect of it that I wouldn't even think about it being exercise.

eey, i wouldn't be too concerned w/ my behavior if i was like 19, 20. but i'm 29! i haven't done a whole lotta group dates, most have been couple dates, but the group thing just takes the anxiety out of the equation.
pixie and ana, if you guys have seen some of my photos, you'd understand that SBS is a blessing for me! i've lost a whole bunch of inches and a few cup sizes, and i can't wait to lose even more. buying shirts are a nightmare! and it's way too easy to look easy when you've got so much up top. i'm looking forward to smaller boobies.
Hey Ladies!!! Well I haven't been in here lately.... So here I am :)
Well they finally opened a gym in my tiny town! Whoo hooo I have been working out everyday this week and will continue to do so only taking off on the weekends. Mostly focusing on weight training which OMG is my new love, seriously. I find cardio SOOOO boring! Well I am warming up before strength training on the treadmill. I walk 3 minutes, run for 1 Repeat for about 30 minutes or so. I have to run some, because I seriously can't stand just walking on that thing. I have been going for about an hour 1/2 to 2 hours a day and man I feel amazing! My muscles aren't used to the weights yet ( I have never really strength trained before) but I am definitely getting there. I will be upping the weights next week!
I kinda skimmed through the posts.. and saw something about BOOB SHRINKAGE lol.... OMG I think I am the complete opposite as far as that goes. So far I have slimmed down EVERYWHERE except for the boobs! I thought that most women will lose there first... I guess I am the exception LOL... I am starting to resemble Dolly now :( I wear a 36 DD anyway... but it kinda blended in more when I had more fat on me, now they look SOOO obvious, a little more than I would like for sure!
Anyway, as far as my exercise challenge I have exceeded my goal!!!! I am 23/20!!!
Now as far as my BLC weigh in tomorrow, I have a sneaking suspicion that I will either be the same weight as last week or maybe a teeny bit higher, because of the weight training I started. I hope not, but we will see.
my body seems to be compensating for it's previous misbehavior... i went from 255.4 earlier this week to 254.8 today. meaning, 2.2 lbs dropped now... 0.6 lbs since wednesday's weigh in. i wasn't going to weight in until tomorrow for the BLC but then i realized that since i'm having my fav restaurant dinner tonight (thai stir fry) and that's high in sodium, i didn't want to be disappointed with a potentially high number due to water retention. so i checked today instead and 254.8 it is. maybe god heard me bitching :) i need to lose 1.8 more lbs to accomplish my july 2008 goal (253 lbs) and 9.8 lbs in total to reach my august 2008 goal (245) which will mark my halfway anniversary to my long-term goal of 165 (takes me out of obesity range, BMI wise) --> 80 lbs lost.
mladdy, i am completely floored by your post about size 10 and 12. oh my goodness! please post some pics, woman!! can't wait to see them! i think i need to buy new underclothes myself. THAT is the one thing i never thought about needing any time soon because i've never worried about the size or fit of that stuff and now i am seeing that it's just as important as the other things.
pixie and ana, i've lost in the chest a little too. not a whole lot. then again, my fat is concentrated in my stomach and upper arms and my chest is big but not that big relative to it all. i have lean legs. the blessing of an apple shape -- no significant behind, hot sexy legs and a big chest... BUT, also a big belly!!! oh well! i'm still focusing on learning how to dress for my shape. many people have said that the right bra can make you look 10 lbs lighter so be sure to go get fitted. i'm going to wait a while longer (like 15 more lbs?) before i go for that. i've seriously started to go through my closet again and weed out the things that i will not be wearing next summer because it already looks too big on me. it's a nice feeling.
dalma - I actually prefer one-on-one dates over group dates. I think group dates cause more anxiety for me, especially if it's with his friends because then I need to try to impress them too! I guess once I get to know someone well, then I like to take it to the group level, but I prefer the first ones to be just couple dates.
as for SBS.... *sigh*... I'm really hoping I don't fall victim to this any more than I already have. My boobs have gotten slightly smaller, but not noticeably, yet. I'm only a B cup and don't really have a whole lot of boob to spare! Now, I would really like some STS (shrinking tummy syndrome)... sign me up for that!

mladdy, what size were you at the start, at 233 lbs?? i'm curious because my sister is an inch taller than you and wearing size 14s and even a few 16s at 185 lbs and has been the biggest hater about the whole i thing (she's been very supportive and has said that i look fabulous but that she thinks i'm delusional about sizes). i think that i'll be at a size 14ish around 210 lbs. she said more like 180 lbs. i KNOW we're all built differently but i think that there is still a range and i think i'm at the higher end of it cuz of my narrower hips but thicker waist! i'm now 254.8 and a size 20W).
we all are totally built differently, watchme. at 244, i'm a size 18. when i'm 220 i'll be a 16, and at 185, like a size 12. don't let your sister's build, and her weight hate, mess you up.
and the undies thing? all i do is buy new bras! really, i don't mind, though, b/c the smaller the boobs, the cuter the bras. panties, too!

watchme, I know you didn't ask me this question, but I've been 14-18 for the past 6 years or so... I'm comfortably in 16s now at 208 (or 206... or whatev), and I know I wear 14s at about 185ish. BUT! I am definitely a pear shape whereas you're an apple with more slender legs so you probably will get into a 14 at a higher overall weight since you carry it differently. Dalma's right about not letting your sister get to you; she's not in your body and doesn't know it as well as you do!
dalma - I hear you about the cute underwear!!! ;)
