ally, come! i gotta get the place nailed down so i can send you guys the info! btw, those nachos sound delish! i try to make 'em without any meat, but w/ lo-fat cheese, fat free sour cream, and lots of yummy salsa and jalapenos. ooh, and a smidge of corn, maybe a sprinkling of black beans for filler. drooooool....
boots, i'm do 90 mins of cardio 5 days a week. that just started this week. before, it was 60-90 mins, 4 days a week. i'm tryna see 199, too! i don't think it's gonna happen though. but i'll take being a size 14 by year end, even if that comes with a higher scale number.
you know what? it's getting harder and harder for me to eat every 3 hours. before, i used to keep my eye on the clock, waiting to grab something. but for the past few weeks, i can only eat like every 5 or 6 hours, if that! i don't like that, b/c it's screwing with the schedule i had my metabolism on, and i don't wanna slow it down. but i just can't bring myself to eat as often as i think i should. which sometimes leaves me w/ a huge deficit at the end of the day, which isn't good w/ the working out, so i scramble to eat most of the remaining calories before 9 pm. so many things to watch! argh!
i agree, 14 is a good goal too!
dalma, have you tried Old Navy? Sounds random, but they usually have boat-necks and often have stripes; I bought a navy blue boatneck tshirt there about a month ago. A blue blazer might work, too...
that was my first stop, pixie! but you're right about the blazer. although it might look a little yachtsman with the white pants i already have. i don't know. i also saw this really cute harry potter costume i could get, but i'd have to buy it online, which means i can't try it on first to see how short it is. it's already short, but w/ my badunk, it's gonna be even shorter. i figured i'd get the bigger one, which should make it a little less short and i could wear opaque tights w/ it, but still, i don't wanna look like a tramp! i'll post a pic in my gallery. tell me if you think i should get it!
thanks for the compliments, guys. the diff in those pics is 5 lbs, according to the scale but, maybe some replacement of fat with muscle as well, which takes up less space?
so, i decided on 2 things today. first, since i'm 252, i set up a new goal of 248 by the end of the month, though i would love to see even less than that. i'm focusing on short term goals and spurts now. like eating really well each and every day (one day a time) and working out each and every day to make each day count.... basically, if i can knock off 1/3rd of a lb through food and exercise deficits, that'd be fantastic!!
second, i'm going to miami with my big sister! her hubby just went to one in the bay area and so he can't take off extra days so she asked me to go with! her hospital is paying for the room so i just have to pay for my air fare and food! i'm excited! we're going in mid-november, for 5 days. the following week, i'll be taking 6 days off for thanksgiving. i'm also going to take 4 days off to celebrate another Easter like holiday with my family in the beginning of December and then 11 days off for the Christmas/New Years holiday!! i think that the rest of the year will FLY this way with these 4 breaks to look forward to. the best part about it is that i'm only going to be using 6 vacation days cuz we get 2 days off for xmas, 2 days off for thanksgiving, and my own holiday days (2) are exempt from the vacation policy plus we get one floating holiday day!!

ally, i'm going to houston MLK weekend. maybe we can hang out?? hehe
the trips sound awesome, watchme! have fun! and the year will totally fly w/ all those vacays between now and then.

I am living proof that you can do it. I didnt read through all of the posts as I just joined calorie count today, but I just wanted to offer some words of encouragement to you and anyone else in your situation. When I got my physical to go to college at 17 I weighed 264lbs. Now I am 24 and have managed to get down to 160lbs (remember slow and steady wins the race, I know it sounds cliche but trust me). I lost the bulk of the weight in 2-3 yrs, but my problem is breaking the 160lb marker (hence the reason I have started counting calories). Keep up the good work ladies!!!

Dalma, I'll definitely come if I can! I have to see if I can get a few days off work even though I'm taking a week for Christmas already, and I have to see if I can find reasonable tickets... But if I can swing it, I'll MOST DEF be there for NYE! We'll have a blast! And as far as the nachos go, the BF would kick my ass if I tried to make him vegetarian nachos! Lol! He's a meat and potatoes guy 100% and he'd be totally pissed. I thought about subbing crumbled tofu, but I hate that stuff, so it'd be a waste of food for both of us. Either way, though, I'm ridiculously excited about making a healthy dinner for him! And as far as the eating every 3 hours goes, I've made myself get back into it lately 'cuz I went through a period like that where I was having trouble with it. I think as our bodies change, they have different nutritional requirements or something because before I didn't want to eat every 3 hours, and now if I don't eat something, I'm ravenous by my next meal. I think I'm going to have up my calories again... 1200 is NOT working for me!
Watchme, Miami sounds awesome! I've always wanted to go there! And DUH! Of COURSE we can hang out when you come! I'm super stoked about it! It's funny that we all "talk" several times a day, but I don't actually know what any of you guys' voices sound like or anything like that... We SO need to find a way to get everyone together at some point...
Posted side-by-sides (scary warning....in sports bra and shorts) for the "core" as Watchme would say. The first pic was around 20 pounds lost, the second 40 pounds lost, and now today. Pretty crazy. I see the difference mostly in the side view. Take a look! :)

Ally, I think you totally have it right. Boys making eating worse! I know that after I met hubby up until I started this, I was just slowly gaining weight. If I'm out with the girls and say "I shouldn't have that", they would agree that I shouldn't eat it. Hubby would always just say if you want it, eat it. Weight gain because you're happy. But frustrating. He still sorta does it, while I'm looking for him to say that I'm right and shouldn't eat it!
Mladdy, you'll take care of those lbs. It seems that we all get the weight loss fatigue sometimes and need a break. But I think the break gets you back on track.

So, since last weekend, I apparently decided on a cheat week. For the most part I'm at maintainence and hoping maybe it'll jump start my loss again. Just been one of those weeks. I've stayed up to 7 am twice this week, sleeping 3 hours after that and napping later. We've just been exausted. So, eating hasn't been great cause I don't want to cook. No working out (almost a week). Feeling bummy. And was going to go out to dinner tonight, but decided to put it off til this weekend when we aren't as tired. Today's my 3 yr anniversary! Seems crazy that it's been three years. So, I'll get back on track on Sunday. Maybe I just need a lil break. And just been frustrated with my lack of loss lately. I busted my butt last week and only lost a tiny bit. Seriously, 299 is so close...but it seems to be getting farther and farther away lately. More mental than anything. I so want to be in my 24s by the time I fly up to Jersey for Christmas. I'll look good that much down and I really want to be able to wear all these clothes I've missed. I do have a few pieces that are just begging to be worn. Just getting frustrated lately. And a little guilty with how I've eaten this week.
I will say this though. I feel like I ate so much today, but it's still below maintainence for me. Strange how what I ate today wasn't nearly enough to keep me at the size I was when I started. This would be a diet day!!!
So if on Sunday I'm not back on track, I think I'll need a whole bunch of ass kicking. Cause I really want to see the 200s. Maybe all the fat I'm losing decided to gang up on me lately cause it doesn't want to disappear!
liza, i'm in the same boat as you..But I've taken 2 weeks off, my goal is to get back on track tomorrow..Hopefully we can help keep each other accountable to start again--who knows maybe we needed a break....

I was thinking the other day that this site was a lot slower lately. This group too, but overall. I guess there are times of the year that just are more weight loss oriented than others. I bet January will have a ton of brand new people and topics.

Boots, I hear ya. I'd be frustrated stuck at the same weight. Since I had a bad week food choice wise, I won't be as frustrated if the weight is up a bit. It's when I've worked hard and there's no change (and I say this cringing thinking how Watchme has worked so hard...although, you can totally see the change on her even with the number stall).
Ok, so just had to say this. My brother in law lives with us. He got home from work and had gotten something to microwave for dinner. I just looked to see what it was since it smelled good. Chicken enchiladas with rice. 6 of them in the box. He just ate (I'm assuming he has, but the plate hasn't come back out of the room) 6 enchiladas with rice. At 300 cals a pop. He just ate 1800 calories. Granted, he's 6'9 so I'm sure it won't effect him much. But that's what I eat all day long!! Thought ya'll would appreciate that.
