Girls in their 20's who want to lose about 100 pounds
And you look great, by the way!!
www.hanlingo.com is a great place to find someone to do a language exchange. It will be really hard with the time difference but you could download skype and get a microphone and practice speaking with a Korean (skype is free)... I could also help with learning the characters.
yessicazctcs - Hi! I recently read the book skinny bitch and it was amazing. I am now a vegetarian and I think I will eventually transition to vegan. My very best friend in the world stopped eating meat about 1.5 years ago and has since lost 180 pounds.(She is half of what she used to be!) You can see her pics here on CC+. Her screenname is mmcoady (or it might be mm_coady.) can't remember which one. It is definitely true that it can help you lose weight! I didn't ever think I could do it, but here I am. I highly recommend reading the book skinny bitch and also watching "meet your meat" - you can find it on youtube.
i just got home from an hour on the elliptical!!! whew! tired. happy weekend!
alibuch: It's really enlightening to learn all of this about Korea, it makes me aware of how much I really take for granted. You are not monopolizing the board, it's interesting to talk about things other than weight loss 24/7.
yessi (Jessica) I could never give up meat. I love chicken and turkey way too much. I hardly ever eat red meat or pork, so I could easily give them up, but not chicken and turkey.
pinkcobra: (ThIs Is Me JuMpInG uP aNd DoWn To CeLeBrAtE yOuR sUcCeSs! Yay for a twelve! I am so happy for you! Have a great weekend on the coast. Your belly pic is awesome! Keep up the good work.
weekend plans? I think my hubby and I are going shopping and of course out to dinner.
Dalma: I bet it still feels great though to be able to buy a 16 dress. I still need an 18 myself, but I have hope for a smaller sized future!
Happy weekend everyone!
Maybe I'm just jealous I'm not a skinny bitch. But like... fat bitch just seems doubly bad, where as skinny bitch it's only one strike against you.
hahah. does any of this make sense? I don't know... maybe I'm just too uppity and crazy - a fat bitch!
Okay, I totally want to join! I keep looking for girls my age who have more than 50 pounds to lose, and I can't find many. I don't want to lose quite as much as 100 pounds, but I do want to lose at least 70. I'm about 5'8", and currently weigh about 220 pounds. It's been really hard for me stay committed and eat right and go to the gym. I don't know why, but motivation is really hard for me. I think it might be because I work so hard mentally (I'm in law school). But I don't want to have my weight interfere with my job search. Plus I'm studying law at Oxford (in England) this summer, and I don't want to be the fat American girl! I also found this amazing picture of Kate Winslet, and it is now my official motivation picture.
feddiechick - just so you know, they're not promoting being an actual skinny bitch. in fact, at the end, they say something about that, it's quite funny. Basically, the writers of the book are being "bitches" and telling it to you like it is. i agree with your arguments though! :) Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hey everybody. I'm glad to see so many posts, from new and old. I couldn't believe I missed 10 whole pages of posts since I was here last! I have been with my family in Northern Michigan for the last 10 days, which is why I haven't done any posting. My mother's internet is achingly slow, so I don't even bother when I'm there. I didn't bother writing down what I ate either, because it was all comfort food and LOTS of sweets, with NO exercise. I didn't drink enough water while I was there either, so I'm not even going to step on the scale for another 2 days to assess the dammage, cuz I'm certain I'm retaining at least a gallon! Anyway, I'm getting myself back on track. I need to go grocery shopping because I have no fresh produce and only processed frozen meals. So here's to sticking to the plan and seeing some results!
p.s. Suzanne- Thanks for the post to check up on me. Allydan- Your PM was really thoughful and very much appreciated. I was a little afraid that no one would miss me on here (that I'd have to find a new thread or something dreadful like that!). Thanks for continuing to make me feel welcomed. You rock!

1. Kate Winslet is hot. ![]()
2. Completely agree you can be gorgeous and fat and all people have to say is ...."such a pretty face..................." ![]()
3. Skinny Bitches can have a horse face and still be considered "hot" ( Paris Hilton anyone??)
4. Alibutch, since you where talking about the diff. aspects of teaching abroad would it be a + or a - to speak Spanish and look Hispanic?
<-- Mexismiley
5. Congrats to everyone!!! Pinkcobra I pray for the day when I will be back @ a size 12! ![]()
Do you mean a plus or a minus being hispanic in Korea? I've seen several... it doesn't seem to be too much of a problem.
The 'pretty face' thing sucks. I was seeing this beaaauuutiful Korean guy... and I went out with him and 4 of his friends (all Koreans) and one of them (the drunkest one) said "oh you're so pretty but you'd be more beautiful if you went on diet"... haha
OMG ALI!! I am so sorry
, n u know what I think I had also spelled it like that in the past. Just goes to show how carefully I read before I start posting. ![]()
Any way guys I was reading the book Skinny Bitch that was recommended on here by danibelle414 ( thanks by the way!!!!) and even though I don't agree w/ everything that they say and I know it's not for everyone it is very very interesting. There is a preview available on google books , def recommend that everyone read it.
I had an off day today. I didn't eat anything horrible but I know that I ate a little over 2000 calories. *sigh* On a positive note, I got a lot of cleaning and organization done so I feel better about things.... I also realized that when I'm sitting in my place all day long (as opposed to being at work) and have all this food available, I am not as good at staying at 1700. At work, I can only have what I take so I stick to my plan....
Loved my latin craze and salsa classes yesterday! lots of fun! I felt a little self-consciou being the heaviest girl in the room but took a no-worries attitude toward it since I knew I was there to have fun and for my health, not to worry about what anyone thought of me
