Girls in their 20's who want to lose about 100 pounds
Congrats sweepie!! :)
congratulations sweepie!!!!!!!!!!!
That's wonderful, sweepie!
How awesome sweepie!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!
Sweepie, congrats! That's so exciting! So...how did he propose (if you don't mind my being nosy)?
So, if craving chocolate means that we're low on protein, then why do we need protein pre-period?
CONGRATS sweepie!!!!!
congrats sweepie ! :))))))))
liza - I haven't done any research on chocolate and pms and stuff, but I know that I'm always wanting big candy bars when its my TOM. I find that a good way for me to curb my chocolate cravings in fudgesicles. Popsicle brand has a no sugar added version that is only 40 calories. They have other fudgesicles with different calorie counts, and a ton of popsicles too... here's their website with "better for you" options!!!

Hope this might help. Also, you and your family are in my prayers.
congrats sweepie!!!!

Wednesday night we had already made plans with Shawn's parents to go over their house for dinner. I figured it was a birthday dinner for me, since we had plans to go to our friends' house yesterday for my birthday to celebrate.
Any ways, we got there and there was a beautiful fire in the fireplace, candles lit all around the house, mainly the living/family room area. We said our hellos to Mom and Dad, which afterwards they went to the kitchen to work on finishing up making dinner.
Shawn asked me to sit by the fireplace with him, which I just figured it was a nice gesture since it was really cold out side. We sat on the sitting ledge in front of the fireplace, and man it felt really nice...really toasty!
There's a ring that I've been wearing as a "promise ring" or "shut me up ring" as I would call it. Shawn asked to see it, so I put my hand towards him, and he said "no, take it off." After a moment or two of silence between us he said, "ya know, this is a nice ring...but..." then he got down on one knee as he was getting a small box out of his pocket...and continued "but I think this one is better, will you marry me?"
For a rare moment in my life...I was speechless!!! I mean totally speechless. All I could do was gasp and smile. I was so shocked I couldn't even cry! I of course said yes. I found out moments later that the ring that was presented to me, was his grandmothers engagement ring who had passed many years ago. It's over 70 years old..and absolutely gorgeous! His grandparents were married for 30 or 40+ years until his grandpa passed away, then his grandma soon after.
The more amazing part of it is...it's a size 7, and no sizing was needed for the ring to get on my finger. :)
I couldn't sleep at all Wednesday night. My mind keep thinking about the wedding plans...what all needed to be done, how were we going to come up with all the money for it? Do I need to get another job? Just weird kind of thoughts racing through my mind.
I'm pretty good about catching on to things when people are trying to hide them from me...but this one..I had no idea! I was absolutely shocked that he kept it from me...and so well!!!
We're planning the wedding for September 19th, 2009. Hope to have it outside, and really hope to have the weather cooperate. We haven't decided where to honeymoon yet...But want to go somewhere that we could drive there. Options are: Niagara Falls, Mackinac Island, Smokey mountains in Tennessee, or Whitefish Point in the UP of Michigan. Living in Northwest OH, they're all pretty much the same distance, it's just a matter of a hotel being available, and where we want to spend that "special" time together as hubby & wife.
I've decided to try and have a salad of some sort at least once a day to help keep my calories down. I think I can do it.
I've got so many calls to make...it's crazy!
Happy Friday everyone!!!!!
Be good this weekend :)
Sweepie, so very exciting! I love proposals, can't help it, I'm a pathetic romantic.
Oh, and I had them change my user name (this is Liza...pic should be the same, but this is a crappy computer and I don't see any images right now). I wanted a bit more anonymity just in case I tell other people about this site. When I first logged on and made a user name, I didn't think about the forums. Although, I didn't expect to use the forums (although I love it now and can't imagine doing this without all of you!).
Anyone have any fun plans? I'm taking my Christmas stuff out this weekend. I don't think we're doing a tree since we'll be away for Christmas, but I need to figure out what to do with the few ornaments that we do have. They're special ornaments and I want them to be put out. It's a tradition for my mom to give everyone a Christmas ornament, which I started with hubby and my daughter too. Although most are up in NJ, the ones we have need to be put out.
And besides that, I need to work my butt off this weekend, cause I refuse to allow myself to sit on my @ss another week in a row. I need to fit into my smaller jeans, and I will not accept not fitting into them. I'm too close to not work as hard as possible to fit them. Besides, all my current jeans are getting too big, and I'm tired of the baggy bum look and all the extra stuff at the waist.
Ok, hope everyone has a great weekend!!
Liza, I'm very excited!!!
The ornaments...I say buy a small table top christmas tree, and put your ornaments on there. Do you have shelves in the family/living room of your home? if so, take small cup hooks and screw them into the bottom of the shelves and let them display in natural hanging form.
Do you have a chandelier in your home, like in the kitchen? If possible hang a few from there. We used to do that when I was a kid when we had too many ornaments to put on the tree, but mom wanted the special ones up and out of the way so they had no chance of them falling off of the christmas tree.
Just a few ideas, I hope they help.
Hi everyone!
Okay, I somehow managed to finally catch up, and I just wanted to say:
Dani, CONGRATS on the BLC! I totally knew you'd make it to the final group! Way to go, chica! :-)
Dalma, Le sigh! The boy sounds dreamy! (And yes, you do need a nickname for him! Of course I'm lazy and just went for the BF, but I might start thinking of one myself...) In any case, I'm glad things are going well! :-)
Watchme, hang in there, chica... You never know when your body has decided it's had a enough of the low 250s and finally wants to head into 240 territory. I hope it's soon, but either way, you're doing a kickass job! Keep up the good work, and keep the faith! You'll get there! :-)
Liza/topeze, I'm WAY late, but congrats on the 2xx's! Good for you! :-)
Sweepie, SQUEE! OMG, congratulations! That's so awesome! And it's so adorable that he managed to surprise you! I love engagement stories! :-)
Okay, so as for me... I'm doing okay. I haven't lost a single pound this month, and I can't work out (for reasons which I will journal about), so I'm kinda bummed about that. I'm holding steady at 168lbs, BUT I did buy my first pair of size 12 jeans, EVER! They're Levi's and they were only $11 at Marshall's! I love, love, LOVE them! I wish I could wear them everywhere! For the longest time I hated wearing pants/jeans at all because I felt like they fit so poorly, and I hated the sound the fabric made as my thighs rubbed together, so I wore skirts everywhere. For the first time in my adult life, I CHOOSE to wear pants! Craziness! :-D
Happy Friday, everyone! :-)
Congrats Sweepie!!!
......sorry im a little late but i was in an emo state due to my recent test grades....grrr.
hey allydan........yay on the jeans!! Size 12! awesome!!
im off to my sat. morning workout but i hope everyone has a FABULOUS Saturday!!
Just had to check in this morning...After one strict week of a vegetarian lifestyle I am officially down aka lost 4.2 pounds and I only exercised 1 time this week...My calories have been around 1800 and I'm feeling great....This really motivates me to continue and I'm hoping I have found my key to success
Dani, I'm waiting to hear your results?????
Today was the final weigh in for the Biggest Loser...sort of (more to come in a minute). My results:
12 weeks and a loss of 35.8 pounds.
Brings my total weight loss to 75.4 pounds. And puts my weight at 211.
I'm pretty happy with this!!! I came in 12th overall.
Now, they changed the competition a little today. They're continuing it for another 12 weeks! Our weigh ins will change to Wednesday nights where we'll still continue our nutrition workshops. Out of the 12 people left it is a competition to see where we can be in the next 12 weeks!!! We don't get all the free training and stuff, but still! I was so worried about losing motivation, and I feel like this is just what I need! My goal is another 30 pounds to be down to about 180 by Valentine's day! It will be hard, but so worth it!
We're all going out tonight! I got a DRESS!!!! I look soo good in it too! I'll have to post pictures! I'm going to have a blast! Hope you're having a great weekend ladies!
Congrats Dani! Your so amazing! Don't worry we will help keep you motivated for the next 12 weeks--you can do this! Amazing girl, just amazing!
sweepie - that is so incredibly sweet!!!!!! I'm a true romantic... and I too, much to my surprise, didn't cry when my hubby proposed! I'm so excited for you!!! Enjoy the planning!
liza/topeze - I love decorating for Christmas, but the hubby is a bit of a scrooge... won't let me put them up until after Thanksgiving!!!! And good luck with the jeans, you'll fit in them in no time!
ally - congrats on the size 12!!!! that's so awesome!
miabel - sorry about your test grades, hope you feel better soon!
boots - 4.2 pounds!!!!!!!!! wow!!!!! go you!
dani - can't wait to see your dress... and you've done so well the first 12 weeks, you'll do great the next 12!
So I got my box of winter clothes in the mail today... I was a little emotional. When we moved to Vegas, we left just about everything back in Louisiana and only brought what we could fit in the car. So it was so nice to have some of MY things!!!! I tried it all on... and some of it is too big! Even better, some things that were too small before actually fit now!!!!! I have some pj's that I got as a gift 3 years ago when we got married that I have never been able to wear b/c they were too small.... and now they fit perfectly!!!!! I cried and my husband wasn't sure what to do about it! LOL!!! He's never struggled with his weight so he doesn't really understand how it feels. Definitely motivation to keep working at it!
Hope you all are having a great weekend!
qt : congrats on the clothes, definitely exciting! ![]()
