Girls in their 20's who want to lose about 100 pounds

Quote  |  Reply
Hi, my name is Suzanne and I am 23 years old. I weigh 258.3 pounds(yikes) and would really like to get down to between 140 and 150. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there in their 20's who has about that much they want to lose. We could work together and stay motivated to reach our goals!!! Also, if there is anyone in their 20's who has lost that much and wants to share their success story, I would love to hear it! Thanks!

r6riderchick,  Those are very good ideas and oh my gosh the bread sounds wonderful.  thanks for the idea.

Hello everyone. It's another manic monday!! Ahhh!! lol
How's the day going? So far so good for me.

Happy St. Pat's!  Is everyone wearing green?? ;)

Although my weekend could have been a complete disaster, I made the most of it and kept myself busy. I went to Toronto to see Dirty Dancing -- fantastic!!! And then yesterday I took a long walk along the canals... it felt so good. I originally went for the walk to do some thinking, and I found that I didn't even think of the boy at all! It was great :)

I admit, I made some terrible food choices over the weekend, but I'm back on track today so hopefully this week I can break into the 270's FINALLY!

suzanne - he cancelled because he had a "flat tire". Whatever. That can be fixed. He's an a**hole and not worth my time, and that's pretty much all there is to it lol. I ended up eating at Wendy's twice this weekend... ahh! And I couldn't even dump a frosty on him... :(  lol. I'm over it though.

ally - yes, men are infuriating!! Did he ever get back to you?!?!

mladdy - Happy Belated Birthday!! :)  Congrats on the 30lbs lost! That's awesome! :)

Welcome to all of the newbies :)

hey!

i did watch i can make you thin. i didn't watch the whole thing, though, b/c what i saw was stuff i was already doing, like not giving up my favorite foods, just eating them sanely, and actually experience eating them. i figured, i knew enough to have my own show, and changed the channel.

and i, too, like a decent cup o' joe in the morning. i usually get a decaf french vanilla w/ cream and splenda from dunkin donuts (sans donuts!) because i've found the starbucks coffee is too strong for me, and i just wind up wasting money that could've been spent on a tall light mocha frap.

edit: allydan and sonini, i'm passing some of my vibes to you***

lately i haven't been giving two figs about guys. i really don't care if i'm with one or not, when just a little while ago it was really all i could think about. i just don't feel like it right now. i guess i've been having too much fun with friends and with myself again, and focusing on kicking the gym's butt, to worry about some dude. screw them, they weren't worth it!!

I'm glad there other people who love coffee as much as I do. The only thing I've found that gives me my coffee fix without all the wasted calories of coffee from a coffee shop is to buy the semi-expensive vanilla roasted coffee with a bit of vanilla soy milk. Yum yum.

Anyone want to mail me some coffee to Korea? hahah

my dd coffee is just 90 cals. the stuff i used to choke down from starby's? knocking on 200 cals. geez louise! and that's without eating anything!

i also like to drink tea sometimes to save a few cals. like right now, i'm drinking hot tea w lemon juice and splenda, like 10 calories. nice.

I'm with you dalmalama... I love tea. English Breakfast more specifically. haha My co-workers think I'm crazy because I drink black tea and not green tea! *gasp*... Just can't stomach green tea most of the time. ewie.
Oh yes... I do enjoy buying flavored beans and grinding them at home... I have not tried soy milk... is there a brand you can recommend? (I'm in the states).

dalmalama,

I used to get coffee at DD too! However I moved and there isn't one on the way to work for me anymore (good and bad!).

I think I have replaced my junk food addiction with a coffee addiction (worried look)...
I used to have pics on my profile and then freaked out that people can google this forum and find the posts. However I think I am done with that. I'm going to see if I have a picture here at work I can add. It's nice to see the faces of the people you are chatting with.
r6riderchick:
I personally like 8th Continent Vanilla, Trader Joes brand vanilla and Silk (light) Vanilla soy milk best. :) Enjoy!

You can also get sugar free, low calorie flavored creamers for your coffee too.

Edit: Also, r6riderchick... there's some option under account settings you can check to prevent yourself from coming up in google searches and such from posting on this site. Also, if you journal, make your entries friends only. :) I'm paranoid about that stuff too...
Thanks Ali...

A guy that I am 'dating' well a co-worker (I KNOW I KNOW... BAD BAD) lives near a Trader Joes and I love that place. I will stop up there the next time I meet up with him for drinks.

Oh... and about men... some guys are giving me more attention now that I am getting back in shape (I have worked for the company for a while and they saw both sides of the spectrum)... however some are shying away. Like they are frightened of me. I don't get men.
Well judging by your picture, you're adorable and they should be giving you attention!

And strangely enough, I rarely got attention from guys at home... and have gotten more here from Korean guys and non-american/canadian westerners (french, british, irish)... It's a bit strange. I also think I am more outgoing here (have to be) and it's like a false confidence haha.

Man... there sure are some hot Korean guys here though. :P

sorry guys, I just love my starbucks--but I love the bad onces--a good old mocha frappacino or a white chocolate mocha (both not good choices) I love them and try to have them once or twice a month which is a big improvement when I used to have 2 a week! Hope everyone is having a great day! I am off my internship today, just going out to run some errands!

**packing up and moving to korea** ;) i prefer black tea, also. i don't care about the hullabaloo over green tea; i ain't drinking it! i've heard cardamom tea is pretty good, though i've never really tried spice or herbal teas. i like cardamom, so i might try it soon.

and even though i'm totally not in the mood, i've been getting more male attention from foreign-born guys recently. not any particular geographical region, just a random spectrum. what's up with that? not that i mind, of course. especially this one really tall, hot, indian guy...what happened to not caring?Smile

bootser, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a good old mocha frap. they are awesome! i totally still drink them and am never gonna give them up! i just can't drink their hot coffees.

i remember only hearing about starbucks on sitcoms, until i went to seattle in 1998 and there really was one on every corner! that was where i had my first rendezvous with my beloved frap. they didn't taste exactly the same when i got back home (it took me a while to find one close), but eventually more opened up and he baristas got WAY better at making them.

dalmalama:

I'll take a foreign guy over a boring American any day! I think my favorite guy here was this beeauuutiful French guy (Tunisian/Lebanese background)... he had this lovely tan middle eastern skin and bright blue eyes. The French accent didn't hurt! ;)

ali, can we just put the kaibash on the man-talk? you're totally ruining my "who needs guys" vibe! but while we're on the subject, i spent a good part of friday night drooling over the most gorgeous guy i'd ever seen in my life. he was the bartender, and i so didn't wanna go there, so i just wiped the saliva from my face every time i asked him for another drink. and it didn't help matters that he was totally ripped. dammit, ali!

edit: as for your tunisian guy, i LOVE that foreign-brown skin tone. isn't it luvly?

I don't know what it is... bot korean men can be extremely hot (and vice versa). When I lived in Calif I dated a korean boy... he was awesome and tall, oooooooo and what a body. I just can't find that here in Michigan. I'm going to have to call him, ha ha. (he's probably happily married with 4 kids...)

Ali, considering that all of those men see 90-110 lb girls that talk/dress/act alike all day, I'm sure you're refreshing and a nice change of pace. People always want something 'different'.

Thanks for the ego boost on my pic, you're a stunner yourself. If I was a hot french/indian guy with blue eyes I would be all over you!! :)~
OOPS... sorry dalmalama... it does suck that you have to go through many worthless men to find one that just makes your feel giddy! However, I have always liked the chase, and the chance meeting the one that makes me swoon. I'm very passionate and a hopeless romantic... HOWEVER (BIG HOWEVER) I just wish I didn't feel passionate and all of that with a lot of men! I find one and then I ruin it, it's sort of like that song out..."The love bug crawls back up and bites me."

The world would be easier if everyone just fell in love once and we all had one soulmate. How I wish I believed that!

rider, SHUT UP! i am SO there with you. i get bored so so easily with dudes, and it's like, once i got him, i don't want to play with him anymore. i just feel like moving on to the next one.

i, too, get super excited when it's really new, you know, just thinking about the possibilities, and really just high on what could be, until i get to know him better and realize i don't want to spend any more time with this guy than it takes to get to my car.

though i have to admit, a part of me really does think there is that one guy out there somewhere on the planet that will be IT. i don't know when i'll meet him, and i'm in no rush, but i feel pretty sure that it's an inevitability.

r6riderchick: Two of my guy neighbors are incredibly hot. My friends joked that I'd fall for Korean guys when I got here but I never believed it. Then I get here... and I'm done for. It seems decided I need to marry a Korean guy and have beautiful half-Korean babies now. hahaha

Sorry dalmalama! haha We can love pretty guys and not need them! :)
