giving up emotional eating/bingeing for Lent

Quote  |  Reply

A couple years ago I gave up fast food for lent and havent ate it since, so I'm hoping if I  this time I can resist the occasional urge to binge maybe it will help kick this bad habit for good even when Lent is over!!

I'm giving up wasting food and money which incorporates binging Tongue out Wish you well on this!

Good luck! Let us know how this goes.

I love binge-eating (makes the rest of the diet tolerable enough to keep me from falling off the wagon), but it gets sooo expensive. For monetary reasons alone, I wish I could resist the urge to binge 100% of the time.

I admire you for quitting cold-turkey. :)

Good for you--I am giving up junk food/candy/desserts for Lent...and I can tell you its going to be a tough 40 days!!

But that's what Lent is about, right?  Hope you have a great Lent :)

I'm giving up take-out food - it's going to be so hard because usually once a week when my fiancé and I don't feel like cooking we just order something!

good luck to you all! you can do it!!

in school they always used to encourage us to take something up rather than give something up. it feels more positive and less of a chore :)

well, im up for giving up binging!!!

ive been trying to give it up for a year or so now, but its really started troubling me the past few months.

good luck!

im giving up the same thing for lent! i was thinking up giving up a certian food but thats not my real problem. its the emotional, binge eating!

I'm for giving up overeating - will be especially hard during TTOM...

on a lighter note, I had a friend in high school who once said that for lent he was giving up his virginity.  That still makes me laugh!
