I have been on CC for about 2 months now and have only lost a total of 4 lbs. I have changed up calories (from less than 1100 to now 1300 + 50) and have changed up workouts too. I should probably exercise more, but have been sick lately so I can only do little bits at a time (but I still make time for it every day). I should have lost more than 4 lbs in 8 weeks especially with how stringent I have been about my calories. I am so frustrated, I think I am giving up. I can't even comprehend hitting my target weight of 124 (from SW 137), especially when I see people who went from 136 to 115 in 4 months. Ugh.
Sorry to hear that you've been stuck. Sometimes its good to take a break though, afterall weight isn't everything. It took me 4 months to lose 13 pounds, and for one of those months I didn't lose anything at all, so I definitely understand how frustrating weight loss can be. Best of luck to you.
DONT YOU DARE QUIT!~!!!! &nb sp;
Losing weigh is different for everyone. What kind of exercises are you doing? maybe you can up your calories a little bit more. What are you eating? Change your diet around. BUT above ALL DO NOT Quit!! You can do this! You have it in you to contiune.
I have been on CC since mid-July and I finally lost 5lbs. I try not to get frustrated because I am not "dieting", I am changing my lifestyle so when I get to my goal weight I can easily maintain that weight. I think 4lbs in 2 months is a great job.
I think it's always harder to lose a little weight rather than a lot. You don't have far to go, and are probably not overweight now. But you have lost 1/2 pound a week. 1/2 to 2 pounds a week is considered a safe rate of weight loss. Being sick makes it all that much harder - see my weight chart in my profile to see just how hard it can be. See how long it took me to get just this far?
Perhaps you should change the way you think about this process. Instead of thinking of it as a diet, make changes that will last you a lifetime. Make a list of food and exercise habits you'd like to change, then set about changing them one at a time. It takes about 3 months or longer for a new, better habit to become ingrained, so be patient with yourself.
Even if you don't lose another pound, you'll be healthier and more fit.
I am trying to lose way more than that (and am much heavier too) and had only lost 5 pounds in two months, including the starting water/sodium weight that just about fell off. Over the past week or two my weight seems to be going down a bit more every few days though, so I am being rewarded for sticking it through, or so I think. I didn't let the slow loss get to me, because as other posters have said there are other reasons to keep with it.
Think of your rewards in ways other than just the scale:
DO you have more energy?
Do you feel overall healthier? (despite being ill currently)
Are your same old clothes looking a bit different on you?
Do you have better muscle definition?
And the ones I go on the most - can you do better at your chosen physical activity than you could before? (aka: run longer/farther, stay on the cardio machine longer/finish a circuit quicker) I love this kind of competing with myself, it makes me feel like I've acomplished something with all my work!
If your goal isn't just yo-yo dieting, but losing the weight and keeping it off, losing slower is better. Also, even if the weight isn't coming off quickly, keeping with it will keep you in the mode of paying attention to what you take in and out; in the end thqat will help you when you get to the maintaining stage and can recall general food cals and about how much an exercise will burn so you won't have to keep logging everything.
everybody is different! CONGRATS ON YOUR 4 LBS!!! That is amazing!
You are doing great and don't give up! Heres a poem I like to look at on days when I feel down..
When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
if you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!

YOU ARE DOING AWESOME!! KEEP IT UP!
I know how you feel! I've like plateaued big time... but keep going, okay? You know when you finally get to your GW you'll feel awesome! Plus, 4 pounds down is 4 pounds you don't have to lose, so there's only seven more to go!!!
You've gotten great advice, and I'll just second it! It's harder to lose as you are closer to goal--why give up now when you are 4 lbs CLOSER? Maybe you are trying too hard, too, and if you look at the "long haul," get your lifestyle closer to maintenance and keep a small deficit, you can lose gradually, get to goal over time, and meanwhile not feel like you are spending all your efforts "losing weight." I have really tried this and it works, although I actually have a lot to lose--I just know that if I lose "fast" (like, the 2 lbs a week that is the fastest safe loss), I'll have trouble adjusting back to a normal routine. So I aim for about a 500 cal deficit; some days it is more, some it is less, but I am losing about 1 lb a week AVERAGE and sometimes I only see that after 2 weeks or more.
Good luck!
oh my gosh jenn...we are in the exact same boat you and I!!! We are both stuck at 4 (me 5) pound weight loss since mid July...that is when I started too-July 23rd to be exact. I too have not lost anymore yet....I also have considered quitting. Hey let's NOT quit ok? I won't if you won't. Our bodies just don't lose as fast because we do not have much to lose. Let's keep going and get through this rough patch ok? Message me if you want-thank god I saw your post because I have really wanted to give up-now I won't thanks to you!

I would still eat more, 1350 is barely over the lowest min. for females, especially since you dont have that much to lose.
Try 1500 calories with the meals spread out and keep working out the same or try more less intense cardio for longer periods maybe. Make sure to drink plenty of water as well. It take time to get the body going, I had excess weight so it came off quickly but not with less and less to go it is becoming harder and takes longer and I find myself actually needing to eat more and more calories.
went from barely 1600 to 1800 to 1900 to 2k range soon. pretty soon most of my body fat with be gone and it will start to put on muscle at the same time.
