Okay, so lately my hands have been extremely dry/cracked/etc. Some days they're worse than others & I've been trying to narrow down the cause.
I've come to the conclusion that tomatoes are responsible. Every time I cut them & touch the insides/seeds, I've noticed that my hands go crazy.
I'm assuming it's the acid in the tomatoes, which makes sense.
Anywho, I absolutely cannot give up my tomatoes, so I'm thinking I need to wear gloves. However, I don't want anything that will be uncomfortable/awkward to cut fruit in or anything that will get powder on my hands or the fruit.
Do any of you use gloves in the kitchen? Any recommendations for me?
Thanks in advance! =]
It would also make sense that if you're sensitive to tomatoes externally, you may have a reaction to them internally. My grandmother couldn't eat tomatoes (or strawberries) because they would bring her hands out in a rash.

You should go to your doctor about your hands. If your skin is already broken and irritated then cutting up tomatoes... or anything else acidic... will make them worse. Wearing gloves will keep the problem under control short-term but, ideally, you need to get something to treat the underlying cause of the dermatitis.

Thanks jane, but I've already been to a dermatologist. Just had an appointment yesterday as a matter of fact. He's given me countless things to treat it, but no luck so far. Right now I'm more concerned with just preventing it from getting any worse while I work with whatever treatment he has me on now.
Is my sodium intake too low?
