I am looking for gluten free options for meals and snacks, especially breakfast, I am getting sick of eggs :)

Anyone else gluten free or know anyone who is that has some ideas for me?

Thanks for your help!

Yoghurt, SMOOTHIES, fruit, oatmeal (beware of contamination, I don't know how sensative you are)...this is hard.

I found a great gluten-free blog:

Good luck finding yummy breafast!

Thank you for sharing the link. The banana cream pie looks delicious. :)

Wheat gluten, or gluten full stop? Either way, I third the Gluten Free girl blog. There's also a group on CC called Gluten Free Living Group. I also personally got a LOT of good advice here from other CCers asking a similar question, save mine was for Christmas cookery ideas. http://caloriecount.about.com/gluten-dairy-fr ee-christmas-dinner-recipes-ft123763 You might want to take a look there too just for substitution ideas! :]

There are glutenfree breads and even flour (if you want to bake it yourself). It looks a bit different but with a bit of imagination you can pass it on for bread. This way you can have you toast again :-)

You'll probably be able to get it online somewhere. I'm from Europe (Holland) so I don't really know where to look for it but it must be there. You could ask a local nutritionist.

Jo

rice crispies and rice chex are both gluten free, that is what i usually have for breakfast

The 2 best on-line resources that I recommend to my gluten intolerant patients are: www.celiac.com and www.gluten.net.

You should be able to find just about anything you could possibly need in relation to eating gluten free on those sites.

Thanks for all the information everyone! Have a very happy holiday season!

SmileI hear ya.  I do enjoy eggs quite a bit, but I will admit that I do tend to get tired of them...not to mention, too many yolks may elevate your cholesterol.

One company called Glutino makes some gluten free products that I enjoy for breakfast.  I really like their cereal bars (apple being my favorite) and they also make a Chocolate Peanut Organic Bar that is something like a rice crispy treat.  Very tasty, but small so if you're anything like me, this may not fill you up.  In any event, these are good alternatives and convenient for breakfast on the "go".

The website is www.glutino.com
