Do not worry about only following something for a day.  Thats one day you can count as a success.  Then you try again.  Maybe next time it will be 2 days?  then 4?  then a week?  Maybe build up on your goals so you dont feel so frustrated?

Oh and also we need an update please?  What is the gm diet? ~ Lost Artist

I don't know what the gm diet is, but I do know that you need to make changes in diet that will last your whole life.  Temporary diets aren't the solution.  Good nutrition and eating the right balance of foods, coupled with tracking caloric intake is the answer.

I am going to start the DIet tomarrow.

I am 208.6 lbs

5 feet 5 inches

I want to weigh close to 170 by July 21st

Do you think the GM diet will work.

I need it to work, any advice?
The "GM diet" is the General Motors Diet for Weigfht Loss and it sounds insane. No wonder you couldn't stay on it.

Day 1: all fruits.
Day 2: all veg
Day 3: fruits + veg
Day 4: bananas and milk
Day 5: beef and tomatoes
Day 6: beef and vegetables
Day 7: brown rice, fruit juice, vegetables

There's more detail if you search Google, of course.

Can't say that looks terrbily healthy to me. Of course it isn't meant to be sustained, but to kick-start your weight loss. It doesn't encourage good eating habits or teach proper nutrition, portion size or anything else that is key to keeping weight off.

Personally, I'd stay far away from the GM diet.
Sounds like some 12 year old made up the silliest diet he could think of, while giggling to himself about the dummies who might take it seriously...
LOL Flamel. Thats exactly what I was thinking! And how is a diet with beef the "best thing for vegeatrians". Not trying to flame, seriously, but don't do this diet. Its bad for you.
oh and 38 lbs in a little over a month is really unhealthy. In order to lose that much, you'd end up dehydrating yourself and losing muscle mass more than anything.. if even possible.
i did this diet once before and had lost abt 4-5 kgs..but i had cheated a lot.so i gained back most of it..now i have started it again and it is my second day..u wont dehydrate if u follow what the diet says..to drink 8-10 tall glasses of water everyday thru the week..so far i doing good i want to check if i'll really lose wt like they say however
ahh

i sucketh at it once agn =(
btw thats the other routine media thinker route

instead of beef.

eating rice!

thats veggie baby!
btw good luck charlotte =))
thanks sextc..i did manage to lose 4kgs..and m maintaining it there for now..
Wow, that's new to me.  Looks as though someone took the principles of intermittent fasting and food combining and produced a diet based on both.  Interesting.

It's not a bad diet at all, really.  The fact that most of those days involve really good food combining offers good digestion, so you're going to be making the most out of every meal.  Plus the elimination of glutinous grains and a whole lot of dairy means much better health for most people (even those who haven't been diagnosed lactose intolerant or gluten intolerant).

It should be understood that you don't need 100% of every nutrient every single day.  Rather, take the "daily requirements" as a weekly average, and you'll see why this diet can work.

I would advise anyone doing this diet to really get serious about switching to organic fruits and vegetables.  Conventional produce is too low and vitamins and minerals compared to organic, and the fact that several of your days are entirely produce-based means total reliance on the quality of your fruits and veggies.
If GM's track record with diets is as good as their cars, you might be found on the side of the road! ; )
I did a little research and found that GM had nothing to do with this diet.  It traces back to a website based in India.  There were no footnotes or solid. verifiable scientific, or medical, references at all.  I found it to be bizarre and sort of disgusting.

So, thank you, but I'll stick to my balanced, healthy diet of whole foods and lose the weight slowly so that it can be sustained for life, not just for now.
I have been hearing about this diet plan for quite sometime but does it really work??
