Goal! From 268 to 150! Woohoo!
Hey everyone:
I just had to share my news with all of you...
After a little over a year and a half I have finally hit my goal of 150! (Well, I'm technically .2 over today, but was .2 under a few days ago!) I've lost about 118 pounds to date.
It's been a long road, and I can't believe I actually did it, but here I am. Healthy, happy, and with a waist 14 inches smaller!
Thanks to everyone for your awesome support along the way.
New pics in my profile!

My hero (heroine)! Just began this three days ago, and reeeeeeeallllly needed to hear there is light at the end of the tunnel! Congrats to you!
Thanks all! *blush*
What have you done to keep your self motivated?
I charted my progress in detail on a spreadsheet. For me this really helped. I know some people have problems getting too obsessive, so I don't suggest it for everyone. But for me - it has been great! Every time I gain a pound temporarily from water or weekend eating I can always look back and put things in perspective.
I track my weekly average calories, my weekly average exercise sessions (not exact calories) and my weight. I have a graph showing only monthly weights - can't stand the little ups and downs. I also keep track of measurements monthly.
What hurdles did you have to overcome?
Everything! Life, emotions, boredom, anxiety, work... Anxiety being the biggest. I struggle with that every day - and food was my biggest comfort. I probably spent about a year lining up in my head how I could actually do this before I started. I watched other people for a long time - how they ate, how they exercised, how they talked about food, and then one day I was just ready to start and I did. And although I have looked back on occasion, I haven't stopped!
What were the things that really seemed to work for you?
Consistency has been the biggest thing. Forgiving myself for being flawed. Trying my best not to freak out when the scale doesn't move or goes up a little when I'm doing everything "right" (by the way - hating that I'm 151 this morning!) The pictures have been very important to me. Seeing progress is very difficult when it's on you - the pictures help with that a lot.
Congrats! Way to go! You SHOULD be proud of yourself - you have earned it and I know from experience that it wasn't easy. I have to admit I envy you - I started out at 280 and am trying to get to 152 (128lb loss). I just reached my halfway point and your post is a total inspiration to keep going! Thank you! I love the progression photos. I wish I had done that - but to be honest I didn't want a camera anywhere near me at the time but now I sort of regret that. It would help to remind me not to get back on the wrong track again. I would love to hear more about how you did it too - I can always use more pointers. :) Great job! Way to go!

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
