Goals for Today & Did you accomplish them?

Quote  |  Reply
Hi everyone.  I thought it would be neat to start a topic on where we can post our goals for the day in the morning and then set a time for 9 pm to enter if we accomplished our goals or not.  This way we have a time limit to get those goals accomplished and we can see what everyone is doing?  I hope some of you will join me in this interesting topic.

Thanks so much,
Tammy

1)  Post in the morning what your goals for the day are.

2)  Post in the evening or the next day, if you reached your goals for the day.

welcome figurethefat.  I hope you continue to stop by.......

I did my goals yesterday except jotting down my food intake, i have no clue as to why i don't do that, being such a simple thing to do.
:)

My goals for today:

Drink 100 oz water
Walk my dog
Ride my bike
do some crunches (not sure how many)

Good luck everyone.

Also had a quick question............  are any of you going to join the challenge?  the one month one I posted?  I hope so .   I think it will be great and fun to do.  Let me know by posting on that thread.

thanks
tammy

Good Luck

I forgot to tell you that is awesome how much you ride your bike to do little things with like errands and stuff.  That is how i feel about my bike too.  You have been riding your bike for 2 months, have you noticed any differences in your legs or anything or weight?  I have been riding my bike for about  3 or 4 weeks now and it is very addictive, i actually can't wait to get home so i can ride it.  lol  that is a good thing.  I notice my butt seems to be getting smaller and firmer, but that is all i noticed really.  I was just curious what changes have happened to you ?  My weight just keeps fluctating every day.  I joined the Biggest Loser Part 4 challenge so I am hoping that will motivate me to lose the weight.  I am excited for that.  :)  Have a great day.  Thanks for posting here I am glad you did.  :)

tammy
Yeah, my butt is definitely smaller, and I definitely have the "big butt" gene. At first, after a few weeks, I thought, oh no, I'm going to get huge thighs from all this bike riding. But no that hasn't happened. Also glad you asked about the weight, because I was wondering if I was going to "gain muscle" weight at the expense of losing fat. That hasn't happened either. Since I started riding, and counting calories--I eat about 1,350 a day on average, sometimes a bit more or less--I've lost about 15 lbs. I didn't want to get stuck on any plateaus so I made a conscious effort to keep my metabolism revved up by drinking about 80 oz. a water a day, eating 6 times daily, eating spicy food, and lots of protein.

I don't see the other thread about the challenge, where is it??

Here are my goals for today:
Drink 80 oz. water
Eat 75 grams protein
Ride my bike at least 30 minutes (it's soooo hot)

Cheers, Laura
here is the link i hope it works, it is for the goal challenge for a month.

I hope you find it.  It is under motivation

good luck on your goals today figurethefat  :)

welcome ohio45  maybe with posting your goal you will do your walk tonight  :)  good luck with the goals  :)

I met my goals.

Had 88 oz. of water Ate 80 grams of protein Rode bike for 55 minutes

So extremely happy about the day!
Congratulations to everyone for reaching their goals, and starting new ones!

I managed to stick to 1450 net calories yesterday and today.  I didn't want to have to tell you all I ate too much ice cream again:)   I didn't want to post last night and then eat more after I posted either.   I haven't found time to exercise much the past two days, but that's okay since I didn't go over.  I'll probably ride my bike tomorrow night and do my 20 min. weight/crunches routine.  1450 net calories will still be my goal.

You're lucky to have so many furry friends, Tammy:)  Do your cats like to "help" when you exercise at home?  Mine do, especially my kitten.  Chasing the string on my sweatpants while I do pushups is one of her especially helpful activities.

Your offer to crochet us a treat for posting is very generous.  Well, posting every couple of nights seems to be working pretty well for me, so I hope that's okay too.   I like the idea of rewarding ourselves if we stick with it for a month.  Maybe whoever feels like it could send each other simple handmade "congratulations" greeting  cards, or some small crafty thing around that size, if we stick with it?   Or a non-handmade card, or an e-card, or an interesting/inspiring article we've read, or a link to a thoughtful poem, or whatever.  I wouldn't want anyone to go to a lot of trouble over it, but something simple.   Just a suggestion.
Pepper  I think that is a great idea if everyone wants to participate and do something little like that, my other thread didn't go too well, am not sure why, i thought it would be a great motivator.

How about those on this thread who would like to participate in a little exchange at the end of each month let me know by posting here and I can match each of us.
I think that is great, I will close the other thread.  THis one seems to be doing much better anyways.  :)

We all have those days where there just isn't enough time in a day to exercise, as long as you continue to stay in your calories and try again to exercise, that is all that matters.  Good for you.  :)

figurethefat   Congratulations on meeting your goals that is awesome.    I love riding my bike i went 14 miles yesterday with the wind blowing against me so it was a workout for me.  I enjoyed it thou.  :)

My goals for today are:

Drink my 100 oz water
be good at the fair on eating fair food
walk alot at the fair

them are my goals as I am going to the state fair today after work so i will be walking around alot and smelling fair food.  wish me luck on not pigging out.  :)  I do want to try to get a bike ride in but I will have to see when we get back from the fair.

Good luck everyone.

Tammy

Here are my goals for today:

Eat 75 grams of protein
Ride my bike for 60 minutes
Walk for 45 minutes
Drink 80 oz. of water

I think I better get my ass in gear and get off the net if I'm going to reach my goals today!!

Laura
Tammy 14 miles on the bike is fantastic. I keep trying to increase my speed and would like to get above 12 mph!

Laura
Yeah ohio45 I really have to make an effort but I like eating more protein. So it comes from lots of dairy: nonfat yogurt, lowfat cottage cheese, skim milk; some beans; wholegrain stuff like bread, oats; and some Yves products, yesterday it was the veggie turkey.

Because I'm a vegetarian my biggest challenge is to get the protein without getting too much sodium.

I like to get up early when it's cool, and should do my walking/riding then but as usual I'm still here on the computer. Tsk tsk. Going right now!
top of the morn' ladies...todays goals:

1.) gym for at least an hour with my bf
2.)eat a'lotta protein b/c i would like to gain muscle weight thro strength training
3.) start drinking more water and less diet soda
4.) stop being wary about increasing caloric intake to get muscle haha
Ohio45

I know it is hard to get motivated to walk or exercise cause of being tired, but you just got to force yourself to do it, I know sometimes it is hard for me and I still just make myself do it and once i get going i dont' mind and am not tired, i am happy at myself for doing it, whether it is something small or not.  You can do it.  Good Luck.  You can do the walk, reward yourself after the walk with something, like a yummy treat "fat free pudding"  or something.

Good Luck  Remember you can do it.......

Good Luck everyone with your goals.  Wish me luck at the fair tonight.  all that yummy smelling food.  :)

I met three of my four goals today. I did ride my bike 60 minutes and walk 45 minutes, drank 80 oz. of water, but I only had 66 grams of protein.

I couldn't eat lunch today and had to stuff in two meals at dinner. I could stuff in some more food to meet the protein goal but I don't think it is worth doing. I guess I'll be happy with 66. :)

Hope other people had a better day than me. I'm emotionally exhausted.
PS IMHO fair food is tempting but ends up making me feel horrible. Hope you didn't succumb Tammy.
Ohio, I hope you feel better.

Tammy, I'll join you with the greeting card or whatever thing.

Hope your goals went well catsouva

Congratulations on yours, Laura.  12 mph sounds fast to me. If you keep that pace on a hybrid or mountain bike it sounds really fast.

I made it to 1300 net calories today.   I walked 20 minutes instead of riding my bike because I decided to go out with a friend to some music and didn't have time left.  Tomorrow my goals will be no more than 1450 net calories and get some kind of cardio exercise and do my weight routine.

Ohio45  the fair was nice, I was good.  i only ate spicy cheese curds and drank some fresh squeezed lemonade.  It was nice out and it was nice to walk around and check out stuff.  My bike isn't anything fancy at all it is a 26" Women's Next  La Jolla Cruiser bike from Walmart, it has only one speed, i love it.  I didn't know how much I would enjoy biking, so next year I am going to our local bike shop and probally going to get a different one, one that fits me better and that might be more challengeing.  I will talk to the guy there, they are extremly nice and helpful and honest which is great.  :)

I enjoy the biking better than walking you get where you got to go faster and I think I tend to go further because it is faster, you know what i mean.  Good luck on the arm exercises.  I think if you have trouble with a tire your local bike shop would be helpful or even a neighbor or even maybe a hometown gas station.  Sorry that you had a frustrating day.  I think jogging is really hard on the knees.  Your scenery when you jog is absolutely beautiful, riding a bike would be just as nice.  Take it easy on your knees....  I hope your day today isn't as frustrating.  :)

figurethefat  I am not sure how fast I go on the bike. i think it is 8-12 mph, whatever it is I figure it is something anyways and better than sitting on my butt at home, lol.  That is alright you didn't meet all your goals, i think you did a great job on your goals.
pepper654  I am glad you will join me in the exchange.  Do you make anything?  I think it will be fun.  :)

sasha_nagra  it looks like your menu for today is a good one.  I should actually write mine down too and try to do them.  Good luck.

Good job everyone on doing your goals!!

Good luck on doing your new goals for today.  Good luck over the weekend too.

My goals for today are:

Drink my 100 oz water
Ride my bike
Eat sensibly at this party i have to go to.
walk my dog
Start a journal and each night i am going to write down what i am grateful and happy for.
