Goals for Today & Did you accomplish them?

Hi everyone.  I thought it would be neat to start a topic on where we can post our goals for the day in the morning and then set a time for 9 pm to enter if we accomplished our goals or not.  This way we have a time limit to get those goals accomplished and we can see what everyone is doing?  I hope some of you will join me in this interesting topic.

goals for august 1st:

- no cookies, one 100 calorie pack of something if i feel i need it

- half an hour on the elliptical

- attempt to do some leg lifts, squats and sit ups.

G'morning - feeling thin today.  Wow, that kinda boosts my morning up a few notches!

Well, I'm wearing my size 9/10 booty shorts right now with a tight black top, out to impress whoever's looking :-P.  But in all seriousness, I woke up feeling thin, and I wanted to check the scale to confirm it.  My bootyshorts are loose this morning, which I think is odd, because I just wore them yesterday.  Maybe an overnight's sleep brought my weight down? Odd. Impossible.

The scale is packed and put in storage until I come back, but there's a perfectly healthy scale in my parents' house that I can use (if THEY haven't packed theirs).  We're all in the process of moving so I don't know what is where, and I am not sure I want to know!

But... maybe I should look at it as being happy to not-know my weight today, as I will be disappointed if a scale says over 161 this morning (as I was 158 yesterday).
Yeah, I said that.  That's why i've been a lazy goal poster.

Leopard, congratulations!  Yay for all the weight loss.

Thursday

* didn't do the group ride, did upper body weights instead
*  200 cal deficit

Friday

* bike ride
* 400 cal deficit

I hear you all on posting the same goals everyday!!
For today:
1. Hike with the kid and dog DID IT
2. Ride my bike for at least 60 minutes NOT SURE THIS WILL HAPPEN TODAY...
3. pick up the fan DOING THIS TONIGHT
4. water the plants YES AND CLEANED UP THE PATIO AND ROCKS TOO
5. treadmill for 30 minutes WENT FOR 45 MIN
6. drink water which I'm now a total slackass at doing and I never even drink it, bah! DRINKING TEA, NOT AS GREAT, BUT SOMETHING

For today:
1. Buy some more bark GOT THIS DONE AND SPREAD AROUND
2. Replace the toilet seat in downstairs bathroom EASY PEASY AND IT LOOKS GREAT
3. Take Penny on a twilight walk YES!
4. Drink more water that 48 oz. MAYBE...
5. Have homemade pizza for dinner. YES IT WAS YUMMY!
These are kind of silly goals, more like my list of things to do :) Hope everyone has a great weekend with whatever kind of weather makes you happy. It's kind of hot here today and somewhat muggy, but what the heck, it's Saturday so no work and I can enjoy the a/c.

I'm going on a group ride with a new group tomorrow. Either it will be a fun group ride, or I'll get dropped and have a lovely solo ride in Marin.  I went to a Sat. farmers market today because I'll be riding tomorrow morning.  There's a stand that has wonderful oaxacan food - I had a dish that had homemade cheese, beans, and spicy fresh cabbage. So tasty.  Thought about going to yoga class but my ankles still hurt so swimming instead.

Friday

* bike ride - did this, 16.6 miles, 13.7 mph average with rolling hills
* 400 cal deficit - 200 cal. with a yummy chocolate cookie snack

Saturday
* swim
* maintenance

Sunday
* long bike ride
* 500-1000 cal deficit

 

Feeling sick and crampy this morning, but it's not from period or anything.  It could have been from the bad eating i had yesterday, which was 8 buffalo wings for lunch (not a lot of food, but lots of Calories), the cake and ice cream yesterday from mom's birthday, and all the other fun stuff like that.

Tomorrow we move across the state, and Tuesday I get in a big steel bird and fly to New York.  Fun stuff.  I wonder what there is to do in Syracuse...?  My godmother says I can use her car if I have a copy of my insurance.

My gym and non-gym goals are the same but if I don't post them, I might not hold myself accountable, especially the non-gym days. It's too easy to sit at the computer!Tongue out

Wednesday: 30" stretches and squats; 30" walk; eat 1350. Done and Ate 1418

Complete house cleaning. Not quite!

Thursday: same as Wednesday. Done and Ate 1319. House cleaning? What's that?

Friday: Fasting until blood drawn.

At gym for 5" on bicycle for warmup, 25" stretches & crunches, 30" weights, 30" rowing machine, walk in swimming pool with 3# weights for 25", swim 3 laps and additional 15" water aerobics. Completed at 670 cal. Ate 1570 cal

Saturday: 30" stretches and squats; 30" walk; eat 1400. Done and ate 1376.

Sunday: 30" stretches and squats; 30" walk; eat 1400. Done and ate 1037 so far; anticpate 1422 for weekly avg of 1427. Edited to say complete per se.

Monday: Get to gym early for 5" on bicycle for warmup, 25" stretches & crunches, 30" weights, 30" rowing machine, walk in swimming pool with 3# weights for 25", swim 3 laps and additional 15" water aerobics.

Get to dentist on time.

#1- remember to take shopping list for shopping; shop and return home.

leopard: I hope you feel better. Syracuse, NY? That sounds interesting. Have a good trip and I hope the move across state goes smoothly.

mischief: definitely too easy to sit at the computer! It's one of my bigges pitfalls to completing exercise goals :/

Goals for today:

1. Eat 4 fruit and 4 veg GRAPEFRUIT, SPROUTS

2. Make some chickpea mash for sandwich spread. DID THIS

3. Eat chickpea, spout and tomato sandwich for lunch. FORGOT TO PUT ON THE TOMATO!

4. Remember the electrician is coming this a.m. HE CAME, IT'S DONE

5. Bike over to school for registration info. NO NEED, GOT AN EMAIL INSTEAD, BUT I BIKED DOWN TO RADIO SHACK FOR A LITTLE REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY

6. Walk on treadmill for 30 minutes. DID THIS FOR 40 MINUTES :)

Aims for today:

* Carbs - cut down (especially refined carbs)

* Protein - increase intake

* Fat - in the middle

I have followed these aims, and my overall calorie intake is approx. 1000 less than what i have burned today.

Mischief, kudos on all the exercise. The exercise gurus on this site say to let muscles rest 48 hours, so 2 days in a row of squats is probably to close together; better to do upper one day lower the next or some other split. 


The group ride I was planning to go to on Sunday was cancelled because of  SF marathon crowds and road closures, so I went biking without the group. 35 miles with 2700 feet of very pretty hills.  The route included the long hill where your time qualifies you for categories of group rides. The qualifier for the mid-level ride is 40 minutes.  I did it in 40.5, down from 42 last time. Just a little more improvement and I'll have a lot more options for group rides.

Monday
* lift weights
* eat mainteance
* drink water

Oh...it is Monday.  What should my goals for today be?

1) Keep calories at 1200

2) Eat salad and LIKE it

3) Work on NOT complaining and having a better attitude!

4) Take the kids swimming.

5) Register Mo for after school care.

I'm actually doing my goals today!  Yippee.  Also have been downing the water and doing a bit of logging in :)

alevin:  I don't use any spices, but I do use canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed, sweet pickle and onion chopped, and some vegenaise.  I love it, specially on crackers.  So I don't have any crackers on hand...

Vegan mac n' not cheese for dinner with veggies and sliced tomatos, and some cottage cheese.  Fruit for dessert...
I miss ohio. She used to post every morning before I got on.
For today:
1. Ride to Winco and buy some coffee. DID THIS
2. Ride bike to work too. TO MY SURPRISE I DID THIS TOO
3. Walk on the treadmill. PENDING
4. Drink 2 of my favourite bottles of water YES!
5. Eat 3 fruit and 3 veg. BANANA RAISINS LETTUCE TOMATO SPINACH SPROUTS SO 2 FRUIT AND LOTS OF VEG :)

Ha!  I couldn't even remember what my goals were for yesterday!  But...I did every single one of them!  I think the best one was the NOT COMPLAINING goal....I felt SO much happier with that one.

Today I want to:

Take the kids to the pool.

Go for a walk.

Continue to NOT COMPLAIN.

Alevin: Your bike rides sound so interesting; wish I had such stamina. How did you hurt your ankles from biking?

BTW, my squats aren't very heavty on non-gym days.

I'm going to have to leave earlier or not be friendly and get involved with chit-chat at the gym as didn't complete per se.. Only got 15" walking with 5# weights [don't know what I was thinking when I said 3# as I have 2.5# on each foot] giving total time in pool at 30" or be late to doc.

Ate 1496 for 476 deficit.

Tuesday: * remember to let neighbors dog out in am. Done

* 25" stretches; 5" squats; 30" walk; eat 1400.

* put neighbors dog in for the night.

Wednesday and Thursday - repeat Tuesday.

Goals for today:
1. Ride my bike in the a.m. before it's hot. DID THIS 75 MIN TOTAL
2. Walk on the treadmill for 45 min. DID 30 MIN
3. Eat 3 fruit and 4 veg. BANANA BROCCOLI CABBAGE TOMATO LEEK -- NOT REALLY GOOD ENOUGH :(
4. No fat-laden food after 7 p.m. YES DID THIS
5. Take overhead light back for refund :) FORGOT ABOUT DOING THIS.
Goals for today:
1. Ride bike to work. DID IT
2. Walk the doggie early (it's almost too late now...) NO SHE WOULDN'T GO
3. Do not weigh. DID NOT WEIGH !!
4. Drink lots of water. NO, SORRY
5. Eat 3 fruit and 4 veg. BANANA LETTUCE TOMATO SO NO DIDN'T MAKE IT :(
6. Take healthy food to work to snack on. YES BUT I ATE SOME COOKIES TOO SO IT DIDN'T WORK OUT AS WELL AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED....
