Who here believes in God?

Absolutely not!!!!!

why not?

The bible is a compilation of stories which have absolutely no proof whatsoever.   Plus, there are like hundreds of gods all decribed in different ways, some say kill some say peace.  Most of them say "give me money"

No such thing, god was made in mans image.

God is an easy answer for questions people fear:

"what will happen when i die?"

"what will I do if I am surrounded by bad people?"

"why am I here?"

All these questions have undesirable answers.  People want to believe in something more than the obvious.

Did you ever believe in God? I mean, what led you to feel this way?

I BELIEVE IN GOD=] AND JESUS CHRIST AND THE VIRGIN MARY AND THE BIBLE ^^

I went to sunday school and learned about god and learned lots of stories teaching us how to do the "right" thing.

I think there are lots of good lessons.  But feeling guilty and giving all I have to something that never exists in reality is too much for me.

David Copperfield made the statue of liberty disappear.  That makes him way more powerful than any god I have only heard of......

The worms will decompose all of me.  I will cease to function and my carcass will decay and smell real bad.  No more frothbeast.

Defend myself and fight for my life because it's all there is....

This question is man made.  There is no reason.  It's really just been a remarkable series of accidents!

I am not against others believing, but I think you guys have all been suckered by a group fo men who are all dead now.

im a catholic, while i might not practice it perfectly, i do beilieve in god. i dont think we were suckered by a group of dead prophets. IF we were forced into it, catholism probably would of died. Many of us who still beilieve arnt so because they were forced at gun point. i have my own reasons to beilieve, while you may have lost all self hope, i havnt....

Regardless if you think jesus was God or even real for that matter, the simple fact that a man would die for the rest of humanity, and for people who hated him is amasing. Hes simply a model human being, a man to live by. THe bible is the same way, it shows the best and worst of humanity, as well as the best and most loving.

personally i almost died at birth, and my parents prayed for me, and i had no issues or health defects. i was 98% dead, i was the 2 % that survives.

my mom almost died from a fatal acident  a few years ago, and i prayed then. agian, she survivied.

now, you can beilieve what you want, and just put all that into chance. BUt personally i know someone or somthing was listening to me and my prayers.

i dont want to start a chain of hatred on this forums, everyone is entititled to thier own opipions, but please dont ever bash my religon or my god, dont you dare, i wont mock you for your beiliefs, so dont chastise me.

i personally would like to think that the universe is much more than a chain of events and groups of atoms. i know i have much more of a purpose than to simply rot away, thats what seperates thinking man from a dog.

who knows? maybe we arnt important at all, that doesnt mean that we cant choose our own fate and beilieve what we want, freedom of choice is what its called. Its a God given right, and a natural right, eitehr way, it our own. SO dont try to change each other.

I don't laugh, I take pity on that vast numbers that contribute their time and money on an idea that is just crazy.
