Dartrinton there is proof, scientific proof. Go to the Quran.
agian, im leaving this post. you cant argue about religon. since none of us are fully right, we really all dont know whats out there. i beilive that jesus was The son of god, and of god himself, and that he layed down his life for all of humanity.

al of it is left on faith, and in the end will we find out. i have my beiliefs and you all have yours. What i do know is , that the message left by the bible or religon, a message that preachs love and respect. well thats the message humaniy neeeds to listen to. Thats the only thing i beilieve God wants from us, not our money, not our land. He just wants our happiness and love.

Why would it worry anyone m3lody?  Why should it?

Among other things, yes. I believe that Jesus was the son of God, like he said he was, like God said he was.
I think frothbeast has a "religion" issue and not really a "higher power" issue.  I am very anti organized religion as well.  I think there are many church teachings that are just not right.  I do believe in a higher power as they say in the 12 steps programs whether its name is Buddah, G-d, Allah or Hare Krshna(sp?) it doesn't matter.  My oldest daughter had some very good friends who are Hare Krshcners and she would attend their weekly "gatherings" for several years.  They had a very nice attitude they basically chanted and spoke all of "G-D's names".  I learned alot from them as well and one was to love all living creatures and respect their individual beliefs.

My youngest daughter attends AA / NA meetings and attends a non denominational church on her own.  Her dad and I have never told our kids they couldn't choose their own religions.  We brought them up not doing the church thing for a very long time.  Its their decision and I respect them and the choices they have made.
I do believe very strongly in God.  I believe that Father and Mother God are very happy, loving and forgiving.  I do not believe in "religion" mainly because I believe that they are Man's belief of what God wants instead of what each person believes on their own.  I think if a group of people feel good and better about getting together on a regular basis to talk about what God is to them then they should by all means do it.  Personally I like walking in nature (forest, beach, lakeside wherever) and talking to my inner belief of what God is.  I also believe that God lives within each of us and whatever your God center is then it is all good.  Personally my God has a great sense of humor and always seems to put things into my path when I need them most.  I also thank God daily for Angels they keep me company and keep me smiling through most of the things that would otherwise make me frown.

I think almost everyone knows the "lord's prayer".

Anybody know what that kingdom is that it prays for?
josal - I heard a comment once that said "If G-d didn't have a sense of humor - how do you explain Giraffes"  LOL
Because they have replaced God with him Val.
I am a Catholic and like many, I have my own issues with the religion.  I have no issues with God.  I also have no issues with Jesus being the son of God.

It's unfortunate that people of power tend to believe things are done on their god's behalf.  It is truly sad the poeple who suffer because of leaders' greed.  Greed to achieve their own goals at the expense of other people.

It is horrible when people cannot accept other people think differently then they do and that is OK.

i have almost died so many times...and did in fact die for a few minutes.  I truly believe you have to live your life to your fullest and allow other people to live their to theirs.  It is very hard when your convictions are so strong to ignore other's "shorcomings" but isn't it all about living your life the best you can?
OK, so why should that bother you or anyone else for that matter?
2beans, it is what you make it to be.  Just like life, it is what you make it to be.
You have no problem with repalcing and worshiping a figure other then GOD?

If thats true, thats your choice I suppose. Its just hard to fathom.

LIfe is a gift from God.

M3lody, of curiosity: do you believe in the trinity?
No 2 beans. I believe in ONE God. I do believe that Jesus, peace be upon him, is a messanger Phrophet of God, just as Abraham, Moses and Muhammad, peace be upon them, are Phropets of God. I believe that at a point in time, the Jews and the Christian were right, but were led astray just as many Muslims today have been. I became Muslim (Born American Christian) at the age of 40. I have read and continue to read and study the Quran, front to back and have seen the proof that God exists.
I have no problem with someone else doing it.  I personally don't replace Jesus for God.  God is God and Jesus is his son.

It is hard to fathom what other people believe sometimes but it isn't hard to live with.  Some people need visuals with their belief.  Some people use their methods and routines as their form of worship.  Regardless, it's a way to connect.

I have to leave now, but I THRIVE on this subject, so anyone who wants please mes. me!! :D
We dont call it a Bible. Bible is the title of the book as is Quran.

In post #30 I gave some examples of how the Quran provides scientific proof of Gods existance. By giving detail on certian subjects such as fetal development, the role of water in life, the foundations of mountians, the mention of other planets... all things that were not scientifically discovered until the past century. It isnt coincidental as there are no errors in the discriptions and facts. How could they have known? Because the Quran was dictated through Gabriel to Muhammad from God, the All Knowing, the Almighty, himself.

Sunday night on the History Channel, there will be a show on at 9PM I believe, about the books that were intentionally left out of the Bible and theories as to who left them out and why. Should be interesting.
m3lody-I think I saw a special like that a couple times before.  Those theories are interesting to watch.  Thank you for the invite to read the Qran but I am with my beliefs and don't feel I need to read something to prove what I already know in my heart.

C-u 2beans...I'm tagging the forum for later so I'll be checking back too.

I enjoyed an earlier poster when they said the stories of the bible, since told through man, may not be as accurate as some people like, but the basic message of goodness comes across.  I have the same thoughts be it a bible or any other form of lecture.
