what goes in YOUR salad?

I have:

2oz sprouts

3 oz cucumber

4oz lettuce

5oz tomato

2 oz fat free feta or fat free cottage cheese

and lots of lemon juice, oil-free greek dressing (1/2 fl oz) and salt.

if they're lying around, I love to put in capers and gerkins too.

delicious.

mmm that sounds good... i love capers! I HAVE to have avocado in my salads. I usually do avocado, lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, bell peppers, and fat free kraft italian dressing in mine.

i also love bell peppers. tomatoes are my ultimate weakness, I can eat cupfuls..

I love me a baby spinach salad with feta, tomato and dried cranberries. If it's for dinner, a Quorn cutlet baked with balsamic vinegrette is a lovely addition to that (:

i recently discovered dried cranberries, but i've never thought of putting them into my salad.. think I'm gonna give it a try! I enjoy my salad for lunch with a slice of wholegrain bread and some more cottage cheese.

I have 2 salads I usually make

baby spinach, slivered almonds, strawberries and a tiny bit of creamy poppyseed dressing

and

iceberg + romain lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cubed chedder cheese, and orange slices. The orange slices make it nice and sweet so that it doesn't really need any dressing... so it is really low calorie as long as you don't go crazy with the cheese. I love it as a side dish when I make lasagna.
Mushrooms, tomato, green peppers, egg beaters egg whites (cooked of course), salmon packet, chicken breast, clementines, baby carrots. Not all of that all the time though.
tomatoes, onions, capsicum, fresh basil, salt, pepper and oil. 
I go all out on salads, I like them: I use romaine, Bibb, or baby spinach and add in: chicken, tuna, hard boil egg, cheese, reduced fat blue cheese crumbles, nuts, dried cranberries, pears, mandarin oranges, croutons, toasted pita bread on the side, ham, turkey, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, roasted red peppers -- not all at once but salads are so low calorie and delicious!
Pepperocinis! I dont even need dressing with lots of spicy pickley love!
I usually just do the regular - whatever veggies I have on hand plus some lunchmeat or chicken.

But recently I have been buying healthy choice santa fe chicken meals and putting that on top of my salad with salsa and a little ranch dressing.  Its so good. 

Chopped Green apple, walnuts, baby greens, crumbled gorgonzola, fresh blueberries, apple smoked turkey chunks, heirloom yellow tomatoes, finely diced red onion.

Huge squeeze lemon juice....bit of olive oil, fresh cracked pepper, yum.

Fabu dressing with virtually Zippo calories...

big scoop of salsa

big squeeze lemon juice, or vinegar

one teaspoon sour cream, or lite sour cream

or, leave out.

Amazing how good it tastes, and how one does not miss the fat..it flavors the salad really well.

Fresh Mushrooms
Banana Peppers
Sweet Onion Sauce

 thats quite some good ideas for protein- i think I may copy some :) seeing as my salads are usually delicious but protein deficient.. :]

 salsa makes pretty much everything more delicious! i love it on pasta or rice

sliced cucumber

sliced green pepper

cherry tomatoes

ponzu sauce

occasionally, some broiled chicken or tuna if the meal I'm having is too low in protein.

 

That's typical for me... 

on my salads i always have at least one kind of fruit (pears, apples, and grapes are my favorites) and one kind of nut (usually almonds or pecans).  YUM!
