I agree Vstar: I think fruit is a must! Right now my diet consist of lean meat & vegetables and the occasional fruit, I feel really good about it since I'm not able to exercise!

Hey Gang, I just thought I would check in..I have been lurking but have been too busy to post. I did my 1st week of work and it went awful so I have to look for a new job, no fun Frown, the good news is I didn't stress eat or eat anything bad and the old me would have..So I was really happy about that! So I just wanted to check in and say keep up the great work and have a good week!

V.P. I agree something natural like fruit is so healthy for us.  Berries especially.  Apples are low GI.

Bootser...  So sorry to hear about your job!  Isn't that the reason you moved in the first place?  How terrible that it went badly right off the bat.

Forks... Get back on the horse my friend!  Of course, one day of chocolate and cheeseburgers won't kill ya either.

There is a box of donuts out in the breakroom.  Glazed twists.  Oddly enough, I don't even really feel like eating one.  How's that work??  Guess that goes to show I'm learning when things are appetizing and when I'm just eating out of habit.  I do, however, need to find some new snacky food.  There are times when I'm just sitting and relaxing that I tend to nibble.  Recently I've taken to eating nuts and that just can't be done.  WAY too many calories.  Perhaps I just need to have veggies of some sort chopped in the fridge for those moments.

I'm glad you have a good golf course :)

Good morning all!

I felt like a slug this weekend without my workouts, we spent all day Saturday at the car show, over 4000 1948 or older cars...to much car show for this gal.  Next year I'll opt out.  It was so hot, I'm sporting a farmers tan/sunburn.  DWF I also vacationed my diet...but I'm back in St. Louis and ready to to return to good habits.  This a.m. I went to the gym and got 60 minutes in on the elliptical and the arctrainer combined total, took my shower and back at work.  My swimming buddy and I will swim at lunch so that will be another 1/2 hour, then after work I plan to do the 60 minute circuit training class...that should be enough repentance to make up for this weekends slacking off.

I don't dare weigh myself until later in the week...I don't want to see that needle jump towards 210...I must get below 200!!! Soon!!!!

GOOD MCoolRN-NNIIINNNGGG/EVE-NNIIINNNGGG G4G GANG!!!!!!!!! Laughing

Gotta' deal with tomatoes, okra and peppers today... I planned, lol! Surprised

Wound up choosing an ideal greenhouse plan and getting an incredible deal on double-paned, tempered safety glass that a man bought and didn't use! We paid $15 each for 24 sheets of 5' x 7' and 9 sheets of 5' x 5' that should have been at least $100 each for the total of 33 sheets! SurprisedLaughing

This will allow us to constuct a 14' or more wide, by 50' long greenhouse down the entire South front of my home-- perfect lighting and completely shielded from the cold North side by the bulk of my home! Cool

We'll move our outside wood-burning furnace a few feet to enclose it inside, which will heat the greenhouse with heat that would have escaped outdoors, and warm the whole South face of my home, too! With my husband's disabilities, this will help us immensely and give him an encouraging, useful hobby to do when he is able! AND save energy! Cool

Not what I planned... but awfully Good for a Day's Achievement! Wink

Hope everybody has as Great a Day as we have already!!!! Laughing

Go, Gang!!!! CoolCoolCool

No scale news for me either dip.

2bb...  How exciting to have a greenhouse!  My next door neighbor, years ago, in interior Alaska was an amazing gardener.  She would start her plants in her basement in the dead of winter, then gradually move to the garage then out in the yard.  She actually bought a system that people used to grow marijuana, from the Alaska State Troopers.  All the lights and watering things.  They would "raid" her house once a month to make sure she was growing tomatoes, not drugs.

Forks...  I have had those days when you just wake up feeling yuck.  I think it has broken me of most of my bad eating habits at this point.  When a food no longer "feeds" me, I just stop eating it.  It's interesting how things just stop being satisfying.

Di_p...  That is a LOT of exercise for one day.  I know you're trying to "repent" but don't overdo it, or you'll just end up hurting yourself for the next day.

Today is an off day for me, thanfully.  I work legs on Day 3 of my plan and the next day.... well..... OUCH!!!  HAHAHA!

Actually the next 3 days will be off for me.  Tonight we have a formal event to attend, then I'll work on my sewing project Wednesday and then Thursday we have a going away dinner for the Wing Commander here.  He and his wife are such lovely people!  It is sad to see them go, but thats the way the military is.  Long weekend coming up though, I foresee much exercise, maybe even two days of golf!

checking out

Gonna end this day with 1600 calories.
Exercise: burned up 350
Water: not enough. 4 bottles.
Not a bad day but not my goal of 1200-1300 which I need to lose.

Don't think I'll try growing any illegal stuff, lol!!!  Must be a challenge growing fresh tomatoes in interior Alaska!!! Glad they helped her with the growing equipment, even if it came with 'extra attention!' Surprised

My family laughed about that, too. Wink

I'll be busy again today with the veggies I couldn't finish yesterday-- but I'll Lurk when I can!!!! Laughing

Tuesday All Day. ha.

Enjoy, Boss!!! SurprisedWink

I have found a new "assist" to my healthy eating plan.  Formal events on an Air Force base.  How does that work you ask?  Well, I'll tell you.  First, you strap yourself into a rather constricting and often hot gown.  Then you go and kibbutz with 200 others in a slightly small and often hot room.  Then you sit down to a mass prepared, over cooked, and often COLD meal.  BLECHY!!  I should do it twice a week, seriously!!  Now, mind you, I've had to feed large groups of people before, and I know it's not easy, but it's possible to put edible food on the table.  Well, everywhere but at the AF clubs anyway.  SIGH.... even their cake is yucky.

The Air Force Ball is coming up in a couple weeks.  I have bought a new gown, which I'm very excited about.  I know it will be another night of iffy food though, even though it's at a hotel.  The hotels go overboard with the "fancy" most of the time, which means most of it isn't something I'd eat anyway.

Ok, so it's a tactic that won't work for everyone, but hey.... that's where I am... HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

If it WORKS... can't fuss about HOW...!!! SurprisedWink

Lose Weight sometimes depends on who your hanging out with.

Forks...  I can honestly say, they couldn't afford the types of cakes I like to make.  Not at $3 per serving or better.  So we just live with it.  Actually, most of the time I don't eat the cake, but last night the dinner was so yucky I needed to eat something.

I find that article about the company we keep to be interesting.  I believe there is some merit to it, since I gained most of my weight and kept it on when almost everyone around me was heavy.  I'm certain there are exceptions, but I would imagine it does hold true to some extent.

Food recommendation from VStar ~~ Healthy Choice Steamers Chicken Margarita.  It is one of the steamer bowl dealies you can find in the freezer section with the frozen dinners.  A 250ish calorie bowl on numminess!!  Just had one for lunch.  It needs a few spices added, but delish!

that does sound good VP

Ummmm... Hungry...!!! Wink

What's for supper...? Tongue out

(It's about 11 p.m. on Tuesday Night here, lol!) Surprised
