Good Night/Afternoon, Gang!!! Laughing

I'm a' gonna' try ta' catch up on some long-neglected sleep tonight by retiring early! Laughing

Loved the pics, Dances! Thanks for sharing... Laughing

Still watching Gustav... pretty much ready for 'im now if he shows! Surprised

*Goes off yawning prodigiously...!!! * Wink

Hey everyone, it has been a while. I will be back into calorie counting full-swing on the 31st,  my mother and a few of my friends are in with me this time, hopefully for the long haul. I hope all of you have had success in your weight loss/maintenance. See you at the end of the month!

-Jenn

Forks...  I think that many people have memories of islands that they covet.  Honestly, I went to Hawaii once and loved it.  I actually told hubs I'd like to get stationed on a tropical island.  Of course, I meant Hawaii.  Unfortunately, we got sent here instead.  This is NOT the Bahamas... or even Hawaii.  THIS is what would happen if everyone in South Central Los Angeles took over Hawaii.  Graffiti, garbage, slums... you name it.  Thus.... I'd take the trees at your house!

Total calories: 1200   not perfect but calories on target.

* Waving vigorously, 2beittybitty yells.... * Surprised

Hi, Jenn!!!!! Welcome back!!!!!!! Tell your Mother and friends to pull up a comfy chair and join right in!!! Laughing

Lookin' forward to getting acquainted!!!! Laughing

WOW!!!!! Your pictures are AMAZING!!!!! GOOD JOB, LADY!!!! SurprisedLaughing

GOOD MCoolRN-NNIIINNNGGG/EVE-NNIIINNNGGG G4G GANG!!!!!!!!!! LaughingLaughingLaughing

South Mississippi is still here... till sometime Monday or so...! Soooooo.... I guess we'll enjoy? a Labor Day Weekend before Gustav possibly joins us...!!! (NOBODY invited him!!!) Surprised

I predicted a Tuesday arrival-- simply because my children have threatened to lock up my husband that day to keep him out of any possibility of getting in trouble, or hurt-- as he did 3 years ago on September 2... on the morning of my birthday! (Due to Hurricane Katrina and cleaning of power lines.) My children wanted to ensure a 'Peaceful' day for me... Instead-- we'll possibly have a new category 3 Hurricane!!!!

I guess, being a 'Labor Day Baby' in 1962 wasn't a 'Great Idea' in timing... At least, not here-- in South Mississippi-- during Hurricane season!!! SurprisedSurprisedSurprised

Hope everybody is doing Great, and enjoys their weekend!!! Cool

Any Lurkers concerned with Gustav? Maybe others are in it's reach, too! Feel free to join in at any time if you want! Laughing

Hi, Boss!!! Nice ta' SEE ya' again!!!! WinkLaughing

2BB I'm thinking you should save up for a Labor Day-get away each year to celebrate your Birthday.  Far away from storms with names.

Hi, gang.  Back after a week in Denver and the Democratic National Convention.  What a blast!!!

It's going to take me awhile to get caught up on all your posts but I'm hoping all has been well with everyone.

On the weight issue.... this was my first airplane trip since losing 200+ pounds.  I didn't need to ask for a seat belt extension, get charged for two seats (as, some airlines do for obese people) or have to look at people who were looking at me in fear that I'd be taking the seat next to them.  Instead, I easily walked down the aisle, took my seat, and had a few inches of seat space to spare!!!  I also didn't have to worry about using the airplane bathroom since I knew I'd be able to fit through the door this time!

And then there's the being able to walk and walk and walk around Denver during the convention and not getting tired!

Anyone who says they are happy being overweight is just lying to themself!

Got to go unpack and then maybe I'll find some time to settle in and catch up.

Welcome back.

Forks...  I have done some of what you recommend within my own space.  I have lots of bright things in my house.  I also burn candles almost constantly.  Especially in my office.  Not sure why, but it helps.  I have always liked candles.

2bb...  Personally, I think the date of your birth is fine.  You just need to leave the Gulf Coast.  I am still praying that Gustav is nothing but a breeze for you, with maybe a sprinkle of rain.

KK... Boy, talk about AHA moments, huh?  No airplane problems, no walking problems, you go girl!!  Glad to hear you had a great time.  I think the crowds of an event like that would get to me.

Well, it has reached the end of the month so I decided to do my weigh in today since I have no idea what the rest of the weekend looks like.  Still sitting right in same place, mid 190's.  Literally a swing of less than a pound one way or the other.  At this point, I just can't even count that, because it could be what I ate for dinner last night.  So... no medal for me this month.  SIGH!

I thought to be frustrated, but I just can't.  Mostly because I look in the mirror and I KNOW the shape of my body is changing.  So, now it's not weight loss so much as conversion, fat to muscle.  As long as I can physically see a change, then I'm happy.  Not that I'd turn down number loss... but I know it's going to be slow at this point.  Time to set a goal for September.  I'd be happy with a pound... estatic with 2... and nearly unbearable with 3.  How's that??

* Waves wildly to KK!!!!!!!!!!! *  Laughing!!!

LOVE that 'Special Effects' Story you shared!!!! LaughingLaughingLaughing

Super-Duper COOL!!!!!!!!!! CoolCoolCool

Glad you're back-- and safe! Would Love a repeat of your list, too!?! Wink

Been gone today-- went to salvage store and shopping with my youngest-- and have a new blue/white speckled, 21 quart, enamel-ware stock-pot for a birthday gift-- a canning aid I wanted, lol! Wink

(YES, I guess I AM Crazy...!) Surprised

Still watching Gustav-- I'm about 100 miles inland from the Gulf Coast, and the same from New Orleans, (to the east of that city), so a bad one can be bad-- especially on this side of it, but only bad ones are a serious problem... Camille and Katrina were VERY bad ones...and I've experienced both... Surprised

We are very ready, with a solid storm room to go to... but a tornado is our greatest danger... they've gone over us and right by us, but haven't hit our home... Laughing

"She don't WANT a Tornado...!" Wink

Having had to rebuild after a house fire, and rebuild again after some trees joined us during Katrina, and having my Dear Husband disabled due to that storm's damages, I'd rather NOT need another re-building job of my poor home from a Tornado!!! DH couldn't do it himself any more, so it would be really serious another time...  * sigh! *

"She REALLY doesn't WANT a Tornado...!!!!!" Surprised

However... "Amazing Grace," is a real thing... and Peace Reigns here, whatever comes... We've had a taste of, "Going through the fire, AND going through the flood," as Hurricane rains swept horizontally through our home... and came through those things with Grace and Peace and GREAT Gratitude for the many things we were spared...!!! Many thousands of dollars of medical bills were cleared away then...and we've been fine this whole past year while DH had to apply for Disability and quit trying to work...!!! A year ago it looked bleak indeed-- how could we survive without an income? The great stock of lumber we had from our failed wood business that wouldn't sell... finally sold!-- all this year-- as we needed it to! Soooooooo..... I'm not fearful, for I believe God will provide for us regardless of what happens, but just aware of what can happen with these storms...! Surprised

AND-- "She doesn't WANT a Tornado...!!!"  Yell

"REALLY!!!!" WinkLaughing

Gotta' go get some things done... Lurk back later to see if anybody comes by! Laughing

Carry on, Great G4G Gang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laughing

dwf

Don't worry, Dances! "Practice makes perfect!" WinkLaughing

No, black is common-- blue was nice to find! Laughing

Yes... I Trust in the safety of The One Whom the winds and storms yet obey-- but accept the tests He allows as well... with His Promise of, "Help in time of need," to cover the hard times... Laughing

Thanks! Laughing

Hi, gang.  Still getting caught up.

I'm keeping an eye on the hurricane and hoping all our G4G gang members in its path remain safe.

Okay, some of you asked for a view of my 'Keeping Myself Accountable' list so here it is for yesterday:

August 29:

  • Walk (10,000 steps every day):  Accomplished!!!
  • BONUS -- Do sprints while taking evening walk:  Nope.  But I did ride my bike for four miles.
  • Climb 10 flights of stairs (every day):   Nope (no stairs on my route this time)
  • Gym (30 minutes strength training four days per week):  Not this week since I was traveling.  I did, however, carry 30 pounds of luggage for more than a mile.
  • Bike (4 miles minimum four days per week):   Two days so far.  Getting ready to head out for another ride in a few minutes.
  • Calories (between 1,200 - 1,500):  1,447
  • Did I eat 1.5 cups of fruits today?:   4 cups!  Lots of fresh melon and grapes.
  • Did I eat 2.5 cups of veggies today?:  Yes!  Enjoying fresh garden veggies!
  • Take Multiple Vitamen and Fiber Supplement:  Yep
  • Did I log my calories?:  Yep
  • Water (was my urine clear by 3 pm):   Yep!  Hee hee!
  • Soda (cut back.... did I have a soda today):  No.  Good girl!
  • Sleep (at least 7 hours, 8 preferable): Yes.  Caught up on sleep from traveling.  It was great!
  • Keep it real.  Did I have any 'whoops' moments?:  Sat around and watched a little more TV then usual.
  • 'Aha' moments:  Aha moment of the week was fitting in the airplane seat and not needing an extension!

I'll confess that I was bad while in Denver for the convention.  Eating out most nights, having a drink or two with old college chums, not being able to get to the gym (but we did tons of walking), etc.  But how often does one get to be there when history is made?  So.... I'm back home and will get back into counting calories and exercising regularly.

How's everyone else doing with their 'Keeping It Real' list?

KK

KK I'm Looking at your checklist.  wow.  impressive.  thanks.  :))
